Brenan Vernon has to peace out and get over to a Nirvana tribute band playing The Morris?
I like my war daddies to have an individualistic tinge to them. Good for him not being like every other MacIrish out there.Brenan Vernon has to peace out and get over to a Nirvana tribute band playing The Morris?
He’s got some Jared Allen type flair going. If he can play like him, sign me up.I like my war daddies to have an individualistic tinge to them. Good for him not being like every other MacIrish out there.
Sidenote: those are 4 big dudes.
Love the thought and agree with most of the grades. But I think Drayk should likely be in a class above Ausberry. I’d love for Aus to change my mind though this season But that says much more about him ascending to Drayk, whom I kinda expect to be a Captain this year. With the 2023 class starting their true junior years, I thought it was interesting to look at how many "hits" Freeman had in his first full recruiting class as head coach:
hit - solid/competitive ND player
Hit - starter/good contributer
HIT - Jeremiyah Love
QB - Kenny Michey (hit - competitive enough to push Angeli out, at very least)
RB - Jeremiyah Love (HIT)
WR - Jaden Greathouse (Hit)
WR - Jordan Faison (Hit, though a walk-on?)
WR - KK Smith, Rico Flores, Braylon James
TE - Cooper Flanagan (hit - additive, even if injured)
OL - Charles Jagusah, Sullivan Absher (Hit)
OL - Joe Otting, Christopher Terek, Devan Houstan (converted DL)
DL - Boubacar Traore (Hit)
DL - Preston Zinter (converted LB), Brenan Vernon, Armel Mukam
LB - Drayk Bowen, Jaiden Ausberry (Hit)
CB - Christian Gray (Hit)
S - Adon Shuler (Hit)
S - Luke Talich (hit)
S - Ben Minich
23 total recruits
- 12 total hits (7 on off. & 5 on def.)
- 9 starter-quality players
- 21 of the 23 still on the team (2 transfers - R. Flores and B. James)
Seems like a great hit rate, especially since so many of these guys played a ton last year.

As a snapshot, it's a fun exercise.Love the thought and agree with most of the grades. But I think Drayk should likely be in a class above Ausberry. Maybe the most impressive part, especially in this day and age.23 total recruits

Thanks - just made some adjustments to make things a bit clearer (and to clarify that Bowen and Jagusah were indeed hits). As a snapshot, it's a fun exercise.
@domer13
As an aside, maybe next time use different words/letters to make it more distinct. It'd be nice to do the 23 & 24 classes together even though we only had one year of play for the 24 class to show something. Too early to tell but it looks like the 24 class will have some monsters emerge.
Did @Merckxe525 ever confirm why chancey stuckey left? With the 2023 class starting their true junior years, I thought it was interesting to look at how many "hits" Freeman had in his first full recruiting class as head coach:
