You are blaming Rees for Buchner blowing out his knee with no contact in HS?
Or pulling his hamstring untouched running down the sideline.
Or twisting his ankle literally walking towards the sideline.
Or twisting his ankle walking down stairs?
Buchner is made of fragile glass.
Spending way too much time discussing buchner in camp season, but mr glass would be the perfect villain moniker for him.

Truth. OMG back in the day mentioning TB’s obvious fragility would get a certain ND analyst in a lather. Now that he bolted it’s an okay topic to discuss. Funny.

Are some practices being held at a high school? Looks that way on some of the Facebook content

Front seven is going to be interesting. How many of the d lineman this year would start on those playoff teams? Probably only mills. They have depth on the line but someone needs to step up and get after the QB. Scheme alone won't be enough imo. Need a playmaker to emerge.
I think the big problem with the '18 squad is that they had a good amount of talent in the front 7, but there was very little depth. NT was basically Bonner and sophomore Kurt Hinish. Behind Tillery, you had true freshman Jayson Ademilola. Tranquill and Coney made a great tandem, but behind that, there wasn't much else.

This year's team has far more depth, and with guys like Onye, Rubio, Botelho and others emerging, you have far more options where you aren't having to play 1s all game long and risk injury.

Is that a grass field? I heard they Freeman wanted to get the team practicing on grass too.

I believe they have a grass field where they normally practice. I have no idea why they went to Mishawaka, maybe they wanted to give the players a change of scenery at practice.

Sorry if I missed it, but Spindler and Wagner were the guards with the first unit the other day. Schrauth was at backup guard, with Kristofic at backup RT.

I’m sure it was just a day of shuffling in front of a public crowd, but something interesting to keep watching.

Wagner getting extended run at guard, even if it ends up he’s part of the #2 group that was simply on the field first to get more reps, is interesting for a few different reasons.

I don't think they do have a grass field anymore. It used to be two turf and one grass in the practice facility, but sometime around when they built the new indoor, they turned the grass one into turf.

First pic looks like grass. This is the field closest to Twychenham.

I think this is a case of us both being right haha. That looks like grass, but it also looks like its the grass field closest to the road which hasn't been part of the practice facility before. That used to be a rec sports field. That's why they had the big screens put up between that grass field and the other two, so the people in the apartment couldn't see practice. I wonder if Freeman will continue to use that field or if its just for camp drills.

Edit: actually, looks like I was just wrong. Google streetview shows that area blocked from view and with uprights since 2019. So it looks like they took over that field a while ago.

Rudolph said that this past week was the time he likes to shuffle everyone around & see what options he has before they get into actual game prep.
It’s really smart, because the first two weeks of fall camp is just fundamentals & getting things figured out before you move to the actual game preps.
So moving guys around now is great because if you have an injury you know all your options, and you get some 2’s in there with the 1’s so they get used to each other.

I know people view HH as the greatest (I don’t), but he didn’t do a good job of this. He had his guys, & the others suffered because of it. He didn’t spend time getting players reps or seeing them perform with the 1’s.

1.) Full pads and tackling. It's about time.
2.) Nice pick by Mickey. I wonder who threw it?
3.) Nice grab by Tobias, as Hartman had to fit the ball between corner and safety.

That's Braylon James rapping??

...Is Tyree gonna be a DUDE in the slot? Nice hands on the quick slant. I know they said he cought a TON of balls in the offseason to have him well prepared for the transition.

I'm excited for him. What a selfless dude, agreeing to this transition.

I think given he is a senior, his experience, his speed, and the fact that he was a good player for us for a lot of years, he’s a real threat. I would bet against most other players making this move, but not in this case. I think he’s going to explode. And as a career RB, when he catches the ball, he’s not going down like your average receiver. I expect a lot of yards after catch and potential home run threat.

It remains to be seen. Slot receivers never made a big impact in the Kelly era and Rees continued that tradition last year. With a 2nd year HC and a new OC, the slot receiver might have a bigger role. It doesn’t hurt that Hartman likes throwing him the ball.

So, basically the ever elusive “next Percy Harvin”?

FWIW, in early Kelly years the Slot WR's or the Z position was an impactful position. I'm not going to post the stats again but Kelly's original offense from his Cincy days that he initially brought to ND utilized the slot WR quite a bit. Though, sometimes it was 2 different slot WR's that shared the position like when it was Carlisle and Procise.

People forget Kelly was bringing basketball on grass to ND we he came. He was winning games at Cincy 50-49.
But he was smart enough to realize what Jeff Brohm, Tom Herman, Matt Campbell, etc… never did, and that that kind of gameplanning gets you a big win over Oklahoma (Herman at Houston) or over OSU (Brohm at Purdue), but those wins don’t matter if you lose 3-4 other games against bad teams.
Kelly realized what he needed to do to just win games, boring or not.
I hope Freeman figures that out. Last year he was what I warned fans against when they wanted Hernan or Brohm back in the day, he beat Clemson but lost to Marshall & horrible Stanford.
Freeman needs to learn Kelly’s consistency along with his uptick in recruiting.

A definite fine line. Offense needs to be better. But u gotta protect the defense and be able to win in the snowy November
