It’s a free article you can read it. Give them the clicks.

Angeli top 50? I’d wonder what drugs Jamie was on if that were the case.

One thing that interested me is, last cycle, Jamie had Prince Kollie as the highest rated LB recruit since he started at ISD. Both Sneed and Burnham finished higher than he did.

We've got a lot of LB firepower

Jamie seems incredible ND-friendly in his ratings. His ISD ratings are almost always higher than the player's national rankings without fail. I put little into his ratings, although I do think he knows what he's doing when discussing X's and O's.

Tell us more. What are your thoughts on sunshine? College-aged southern blondes? 3-day weekends? All overrated I presume?

This isn’t actually the case. If you take the time to check ISD’s full commitment ratings you’ll see that he has some meaningfully higher, some marginally higher (because he doesn’t use decimal points so Bellamy is a 90 versus a 89.3 national average, most fall in this category actually) and some lower. And some of them that are higher, were before the commitments.

For example, Burnham’s rating was before he committed. It’s gone higher since because Burnham has looked that good recently. But he was way higher than national consensus on him before his commitment. Same goes for Price (I posted on it then, check his thread). He always had Price above Hayden even though Hayden was supposed to be one of the “Big 3”. He was higher on Angeli than most before he committed. He’s been meaningfully lower on Junior the whole time and still is. Same goes for Ty Chan.

The final 247 rankings are out. ND has 14 in the top 247 and the #7 class. Great start to the Freeman era. Imagine if Freeman had the job all year and he could have closed on Allar and Singleton... Could have been #1. Future is bright though.

Kind of random, but I was on an IE hiatus back in November and saw Hayden play in person. I wasn't impressed. At all. I could definitely be wrong, but I would be shocked if he contributes at osu. To me he has "transfer out after 1 year to Memphis, then never even do much at Memphis either" written all over him. Again, it was 1 game I saw and I may be wrong though. It was the state semi-final game though. Hayden merely looked like a pretty good RB on a pretty good HS team.

Also, he has said Drayk Bowen is a really good player but not a 5 star. He has him rated at a 93 while his composite is 98. He’s also meaningfully lower on Brenan Vernon at 93 and his composite is 97.

Gobaira and Merriweather not being top 150 recruits and Burnham not being too 100 is laughable at best. No one can tell me based on eval, combined with measurable’s Burnham is not a top 100, pushing a top 50 player. I am notably not a professional, and assuredly have some bias in my opinions, but cmon man.

For the 2022 commits, he rated 14 of them higher than their national average, and 4 of them lower. In 2021 class, he rated 19 of them higher, and 4 lower. I'm not going to play with their numbers so I counted the decimals both ways consistently.

In total over the past 2 courses that's 33 of them Jamie/ISD ranked higher and 8 lower. So 80% of them higher. I'd say it's definitely true.

I think Ziegler and JR are two that I think the services get lost in the project to the NFL mindset. Maybe they aren’t early NFL picks but I think both are multi year P5 starters potentially, and Ziegler sooner rather than later.

So are we done with the 22’ class? Maybe saving spots for the portal? I guess not seeing any news may be an indication.

Maybe someone more in The know with Admissions can correct me but I’d expect no more transfers for this semester at this point. Anyone coming in will have to come in in the summer semester at the earliest.

HS class is done. Transfer class probably not.

Lowe and Douglas both didn’t qualify I believe and Paul chose not to visit this past weekend.

Thanks for the responses, I guess a little wishful thinking on my part that we’d secure a surprise commitment or two on the old NSD.

Seems we fell a little short of the projected class size for 22’. I’m sure returning players, and available transfers likely contributed to any late push, or lack there of.

Gobaira is already 230? Wow. At sub-200 right now, any chance we see Sneed this fall on special teams?

Things that standout.

- Gobaira really is 6'5? That's great news. Plus 230 is a solid weight for him to get started at.
- Also happy to see Ford at 6'4 and 269.
- Sneed sporting the big S body at this time, 6'1 1/8, 198. But, that is pretty close with JOK's freshman size. Who was listed at 6'1, 204
- I'm glad neither of Mickey/Bellamy showed up 5'10 or less.

We signed 5 DE’s/DT’s the last two classes compared to 13 that Texas A&M signed

It will be interesting to see Notre Dame vs Texas A&M in both 2024 and 2025. These kids that have made the Aggies the top recruiting class of all time will be juniors and seniors by then.

May even be more interesting to see which of those 13 are still on the roster.
This. They brought in like 80 d lineman. Only so many can start. Those that won't don't seem like the type that are going to sit around and wait their turn.

And they've all shown they're willing to chase that bag. Lots of bags seem flying around these days.
