Bama signee Isaiah Bond (IMO #1 WR) told Loy he and his family loved ND and us (as well as OU) would have been contenders had we offered. Dartmouth, Duke, Vandy offers and visited as a Sophomore.
Imagine the 2 years of argument, hope and debate Del deprived us of here.

What the actual fuck. Instead Del went after a dude from Louisiana and Mater Dei and never expanded the board.

there is little chance this kid would have chosen ND. The only way he would have is if he really loved ND and if he did love ND he would have let the school know in some way that even Del would have made an effort.
Agreed. We hear all the time about recruits that fit exactly what ND is looking for, that say they are fans of ND, or understand ND, or whatever else that gives us hope, and they end up going to Ohio State or UCLA or some other BS school that makes no sense. Don’t follow their words, follow their actions.
To find a bit more color. He not only camped at ND but also visited for the Va Tech game. He’s an ATH and Terry Joseph was his recruiter. So he likely fell through the cracks when Joseph didn’t offer as lead and Del and company didn’t claim him on the offensive side when Joseph left. That would be my guess.

Be that as it may, you can't win if you don't play. Just fucking offer the kid. Dafuq.Agreed. Final On3 Top 300
They torpedoed Chan’s rating
This class ended up at #6 in On3 composite rankings (average of all 4 sites) despite the loss of CJ Williams and Devin Moore. We signed a combined 18 4 & 5 stars.
If we can hover around 5-7 range for the next few years + an elite QB every other year, we'll be as close as we can reasonably expect ND to recruit in this NIL world.
In other news - Devin Moore ended up at #66 in the final 2022 rankings. Fucking ouch.

That leaves out Price, JR, and Chan most notably. They torpedoed Chan’s rating

I think this is NDs ceiling. 5-10 is about as good as we will do depending on the numbers taken each year. My hope is I think what MF will bring us is a more consistent ranking ranking in this level as opposed to to some terrible classes that BK managed to allow to happen
Right. To be clear under Bk we had some very bad classes that were not only small but less talented and with huge gaps in positions. My hope is that MF and Co. Can keep the quality very high and fill gaps regardless of class size allowable to be taken.Agreed. But the bolded is an interesting point. ND doesn't HAVE to be at the tippy-top of the overall rankings each year, as they may be taking 2-6 less kids than some schools ranked ahead. But as long as they can grab multiple Top-100ish players and keep the aggregate player ranking high, they can compete for Natty's in that consistent 4-10 range.
