I've heard her on other podcasts last year and she didn't remotely sound like that. I wonder if she's getting over a cold.

I'm all in on Buchner but watching him throw just isn't fun. It looks uncomfortable.

Yeah the throw at the 20 sec mark is hideous isn’t it?

I think everyone needs to cool it with making Buchner into Wimbush. He has + arm talent and can make throws from different arm angles/on the run, which usually translates into, at the very least, average touch and accuracy.

Fwiw, Printer mentioned on the last Irish Illustrated podcast that Buchner had "begun the process of winning the starting QB job" before spring practice started.

this gal's voice lol. This Horka kid always seems walk too normal to be on the ND beat surrounded by a gang of weird weird dudes

She's been sick for over a week now. She had to miss one of their live videos last week because voice was completely gone. Obviously still not back, but too big for a new hire to miss practice #1.

Are you implying there's something wrong with that quote?
He said "begun the process" not, "won the job already".
Per multiple sites/reports he put in a great off-season workout and starting to get more vocal.
Aka, he's starting the process.

Didn’t sound like he was implying anything wrong IMO haha

I'm implying that he's probably going to win it

Sampson and the 247 guys have been pretty consistent in Buchner being all but the starter IMO

He was in the first 'wave/line/group' in the stretching lines. He already has the starting job.

Ok, just wanted to make sure.
I know there are some Pyne guys out there that might not like it.

Your "before practice has even started" could have also been seen as II was jumping the gun.

Thanks

We know Pyne can be Ian Book, which is a QB that can win plenty of games for ND based on the overall roster and where the program is relative to the rest of the country. You're talking 9/10-win floor (as long as Freeman doesn't have too steep a learning curve as a CEO).

What a ridiculously privileged place to be as a program, when you've got a guy like Pyne on hand, KNOWING you can win 10 games if something doesn't go horribly wrong... and yet you've got another guy, with a higher ceiling, ready to win the job over him anyway, even with a lack of experience and all the risks that go with it.

Yep. These are first-world problems. But we do have to keep Pyne in the fold. He will help Notre Dame win at least one football game next season. And behind him there's... not much.

This excites me more than the QB talk:

Eric Hansen's projected spring depth chart has Deion Colzie as the starting boundary WR & Lorenzo Styles as the starting field WR.

I think those 2 can be a surprising WR duo.

There aren't many other options for WR starters

Might need to look at the portal. An undersized Cross, injury history Lacey and RS Frosh Rubio is not enough.

I hope so. That would be a more talented combo than we have had in years.

I disagree. Provided Rubio develops into what was expected it is enough.

Rubio was supposed to provide depth at DT though so now you have to give those snaps to someone too. IMO this depth chart is an injury away from a disaster if Mills has moved out to SDE:

Jayson A - Rubio - Onye
Cross/Lacey - Rubio - Hinish

Expect a ton of 3 DL. One hogmolly that you know could give you 25 snaps at NT could go a long way, which is what Aiden K could have been.
