CJ Hicks out of Archbishop Alter offered. His new Soph film is scary. OSU hasn't offered yet. Dude plays everything from CB to DE. Did I say he's scary? Yikes.

Dude, the play where he makes a crucial block to spring the big kick return taking two guys out of the play and then proceeds to outrun EVERYBODY to go make the last block needed to get the touchdown....Good lord.

They've had some near misses recently. In the Calss of '19, Connor Bazelak a 4* QB went to Mizzou and a 4* RB named John Bivens who injured his knee his Jr year, did not play his Sr. year and he disappeared. Someone from the past theat ND missed on was Chris Borland (Same year as Kuechly!). Neither OSU or ND offered and he had a monster career for the Badgers.

In 2021 there's a BIG RB named Brandon MCDonald (I think) He was putting up big #'s but I haven't followed him this season.

CJ Hicks is of course the real deal. If OSU slips up, ND should be in a great spot. Alter is VERY ND friendly. Obviously Malik and Finke went there as did... (from my day)... a 6-1 Sof A More from Archbishop Alter in Kettering OH... #23... Johhhhhhhn Paxsooooooon.

Quinn needs to go all in on this kid. Elite talent, best OG prospect in the class that could play OT and comes from a very Catholic family. This is one of those scenarios where you recruit the parents hard af and junior has no choice.

For those who don't follow prospects closely, this is Donald's kid. Him being an Alcorn St alum means his kid isn't one foot into someone else's class because he's a legacy.

A recent offer at RB for 22'. High 4 star RB now but would be a 5 star, according to 247, if he finishes where he's currently ranked. Basically a stud RB out of Colorado that should profile well to ND. Interesting that Sampson is speaking with such confidence. Should add he's already been to campus and said he grew up watching ND football. Called ND a 'dream' school, if those still exist.

I didn't take it as that, exactly. I think it was more a point about needing to close on high 4/5* guys they have a shot with, and build championship quality depth. And the example was stud RBs in consecutive classes (Tyree, Shipley, Sawchuck)

I agree it may have just been worded strangely. Here’s the quote:

“But Notre Dame’s run game would also be better if Shipley followed Tyree next cycle, with potential five-star back Gavin Sawchuk of Colorado coming in the ’22 class.”

Here’s what I assume he meant:

“But Notre Dame’s run game would also be better if Shipley followed Tyree next cycle, with potential five-star back Gavin Sawchuk of Colorado potentially coming in the ’22 class.”

Maybe Sampson just didn’t want to use potential twice in the same sentence.

I don't know about that but I can tell you that the kid is stupid fast with a 6.77 time in the 60 Meter. No one is faster in HS than him.

To put his time in perspective the world record is 6.34. The kid is only a sophomore in HS, can't even imagine how many tenths of second he will shave off as he continues to mature let alone strength from weight training.
