Just my opinion, but Avery Davis moving to DB could mean that the staff thinks the RB situation is better than originally expected. Or the secondary is worse than originally thought, but I can't imagine that being the case considering the recent success in DB recruiting.

RB is too crowded, and they don't have enough CB's available in the Spring.

Davis has great agility... try to teach him to use that to flip his hips and read the WR's. Maybe you strike gold. If not, you at least have an emergency option that's been preparing at the position.

BK says that Davis, speed wise, matched up with Pride. I'm gonna call bullshit on that.

Did BK just say Houston will play the boundary?

Yup. He says they want to keep Pride in place where he is, and let the young guys battle and develop at boundary.

Sounds like it's Griffith's job to lose, though, as the other guys will be working as "left" and "right" corners.

Does that open a safety spot for Derrik and Kyle at FS? Or do they all slot at different positions?

We all want to see Lenzy, Keys and most importantly Austin...

But Joe Wilkins is the darkhorse. Starting to seem like BK realllllly likes him.

Of note is Nana up to 245. Sinclair posted the other day that he'd already added 10 lbs of lean muscle (which makes sense since he was 235 on ESP). Very promising start to S&C for him.

I mean, it should open up a spot in the 2 deep but not necessarily a starting spot. Safety position seems to be the most locked up position on the entire team with Gilman and Elliot

Well no one is unseating Gilman or Elliott as long as they're both healthy, but it makes the nickel CB position interesting more than anything.

But Joe Wilkins is the darkhorse. Starting to seem like BK realllllly likes him.

This is why I thought it was so bizarre he'd move CB. He got a lot of varsity run throughout the year during practice and they seem to like his skillset at WR. Seems like Davis moving to CB was the option they chose instead of moving Wilkins.

I think Gilman is absolutely a lock. Elliot, probably close to a lock, but I could see some young guys push him.

I would've agreed with you before the last half of the season last year. I don't see anyone unseating Elliott with the way he was playing.

He was jumping routes with confidence and laying the wood with big, LEGAL hits in the flats consistently. I don't think they'd upset his obvious development for a guy that will likely have to go through the same process.

Best case scenario is Allen, Moala or Hamilton make it easy on the staff to spell Gilman and Elliott with a 3rd safety every few drives.

Absolutely loved what he did as well. I would not be surprised to see Allen nip at his heels though.
