... in 2019, 2021 and maybe 2023.

Tree

Probably not intentional, but the fact that this post is on the page after the first one makes it even better.

I had to go back a page to try to understand what this quoted comment meant, completely forgot about it once I read the Austin Jones comment, was slightly confused, flipped to this page, and it clicked. Bravo.

As Turner CB from Loy. I wonder who gets the spot first. Turner or sinclair?

Feels good to check a lot of boxes in this class and July isn't over yet. Wonder where the numbers take the other open spots. So we have Turner or Sinclair at LB. Maybe both? Rouse at OL. A handful sitting for a second WR. DE is needed but can we get Trice? Second CB or RB perhaps? Let the speculation continue.

QB was the last box I was worried about.

From now on, I think it's about all the 3 stars!!! lol.

I'd love to get Sinclair and/or Turner but I try not to get to hopeful with Cali kids.

Someone always comes out of the blue, late in the process. Hoping it's a DE or RB.

This is my jam right now, lol

Food for thought, last year we didn’t have Houston Griffith in that class. If we rated him as a S, might’ve been a top 5 guy.

Happy 4th IE!

Hopefully we are still recruiting George Kalifitis.

There seems to be a huge difference on how folks view how he did. I guess we’ll see. I think 247 loves to validate their rankings, but what do I know.

Unless guys like Sinclair and Turner plan on committing this month, I smell a drought coming. Thats not a bad thing, as the staff probably has fewer than 6-7 spots left in this class. I just can't think of anyone that wants to make a decision before high school ball starts and Notre Dame has a legit shot at. That isn't a bad thing, though; the staff has a really good class at the moment and they probably only have 6-7 spots left in this class.

I think some of us are forgetting that the staff will probably offer a good handful of kids once they see their senior year production. I think there could be quite a few names pop up at running back, wide receiver, and defensive end in the Fall/early winter months.

Like Lucci said in previous posts, players like Griffith, Lenzy, and Noah Boykin weren't brought up or didn't seem realistic at this time last year. It is amazing what winning can do. If we win in 2018, who knows who will come calling.

I agree. The next couple months may open things up more. I saw they were talking to Mark Antony Richards a RB from Florida. They will expand the board where they want to. Like arrow said at running back, wide receiver, and defensive end.

struggled mightily at the Opening per ISD podcast.

I'm on ISD and I haven't seen that. Can you link it? They commented on him and said he had really good reps, but then got pancaked on back to back reps because he got off balance, so he was up and down. That's all I've seen on him.

Interesting I read an article where he was one of the top 5 best DE/DT there

Certainly not the #12 overall player, not even close.

George Karlaftis made the Opening Finals "Dream Team". 5-star, now has shown out at the opening finals, I think it's time to strongly consider that our staff may end up having missed on this one.

From the reps I saw, he's still not the #12 ranked player, or even close, and Jamie certainly doesn't think so. Saw video and mentions of him getting tossed like a rag doll on multiple occasions. I'll take his opinion over 247's, as they are desperately trying to validate that ranking, for whatever reason. This changes nothing for me.

Also, their "unofficial" records on these 1 on 1's is about as accurate as if my wife graded them.

That's fine if he's not the #12 player. He could be the #200th player, and he'd still be better than any other DE ND actually has a chance with.

I mean, isn't that right? What DE are we in on that's even a 4-star? Even if he's a low 4-star, he's still in state, and better than anyone we have a chance with.

Well, there is a huge difference if we are talking about "missing" on a low 4 star or the #12 player in the class, right? So that becomes vitally important to how big of a "miss" it truly is, if we indeed deem it to be one.

In your opinion and/or that you know of. Seems pretty obvious the staff doesn't agree. This staff is out there grinding on the trail and getting into and winning a lot of recruiting battles right now. But also identifying the guys they want.

Also, the season isn't here yet. I'm very confident that we'll have prospects take OV's that we are not aware of at this time. There will be players that we weren't previously recruiting, that we start to. It literally happens every year. So if there is a DE that the staff isn't that high on, for whatever reason, then I think some patience is fine. Now, if I truly thought he was the #12 player and this was Jaylon Smith all over again. I'd feel differently. But I don't, not even close.

Honestly I would take all our DE/DT recruits we have landed over him minus maybe cross but still I don't see him being 12th maybe 200 or 250 but not 12
