I thought I'd put these here for the 2019 class to give an idea of needs at positions and numbers. The number in parentheses doesn't include the commits for the 2019 class. Its just the total that might be needed for the 2019 season.

QB (1-2 guys)
4* RS SR Brandon Wimbush
3* RS JR Ian Book
4* RS SO Avery Davis
4* RS FR Phil Jurkovec
3* FR Cade McNamara

QB is interesting because there is potential to be a ton of bodies by the 2019 season, but its going to be an extremely fluid board because transfers will very likely happen. Wimbush could lose his job and Grad Transfer, Ian Book could graduate in 3 years and do 2 years somewhere else. I think that's why the staff is looking all over the country right now for a 2nd QB recruit. I think they'd rather be at 2 commits for the 2019 class and then assume that 2 QB's will leave by the 2019 season. Max Duggan? Graham Mertz?

This position is definitely in flux right now. Hopefully we land C'Bo in the coming week, hopefully CJ Holmes gets his head screwed on straight and is able to come back, and then we'd have probably 4 guys at the position which would make the need for 3 RB's less dire. Some programs carry as many as 7-8 scholarship RB's in one season so depth is extremely important. We can go through a season with probably 4, but it would be ideal to be heavy at this position in terms of numbers. My guess right now is we take 2 RB's and maybe and Slot/RB guy like Kyren Williams. This position is definitely fluid, but Autry Denson just needs to go out and grab some talent like Austin Jones, Cesare Mellusi, Steele Chambers, Sampson James, and maybe a fave of mine Jirehl Brock.

Assuming we get 1 more WR this class (LK3?), I think the class needs around 3-4 WR's for the 2019 class. On a positive note, DelVaughn Alexander can over-recruit a little bit because of 2 Graduate Seniors at his position group. We can take 4 2019's and have 14 players committed for the 2019 season. Then a transfer or two, NFL departures, and maybe you don't ask back at RS SR or two and you are down to the numbers you need. Now all they need to do is find 4 really good prospects who wanna be WR's at ND. Kam Brown, Joe Ngata, TJ Sheffield, and Jake Smith all liked their visits. Those are all really good prospects to get in the fold.

Super well stocked position, with talent and versatility. I think Chip Long brings in probably 2 more guys this cycle because he loves to have the cupboards stocked at this position and 6 seems like a good number to have on board with the 2 tight end sets that Long employs. The numbers one want in this cycle has to be Hudson Henry from Arkansas. Would be an absolute coup to steal him away from the Razorbacks who developed his older brother into a 2nd Rd pick and All-SEC player.

Probably the most pivotal position on the offensive side of the ball this cycle in terms of needs. If ND is able to land NPF and/or Jarrett Patterson then the need drops down to probably 5 or 6 guys in 2019, but there is a massive glut of talent in the midwest this cycle, and ND did a fantastic job of getting many of these guys to drive in for an unofficial visit this past fall. Now Jeff Quinn needs to pick up where Chip Long and Harry Hiestand left off and grab some talent. Hopefully they are able to hold onto the lead for John Olmstead and Quinn Carroll. Hopefully they have a sort of OLine Junior Day coming up where everyone is able meet Coach Quinn and he can show them some love.

Hearing all the DL on campus this past weekend REALLY gelled. One UNCOMMITTED DL even proposed the question of all of them committing at the same time (vague wording of whether it was to be on this past Saturday (makes more sense to me) or this coming Saturday). Anywho, this DL class if going to be special.

To me, NaNa is the key. He is the pass rushing athlete we just struggle so much to land.

2019 looks like a good year for Notre Dame to take advantage of in-state talent. 6 recruits are composite 4 stars.

-David Bell is going to be tough to land; I remember reading that OSU would be tough to beat.

-I think Sampson James out Avon could be a really good college running back. Shows really good burst at the LOS and has good speed.

-I know 2019 could be the year of the d-line for recruiting, but I'd like to see Beau Robbins get an offer. At least get him on campus this spring and invite him to II.

-Eli Pancol is an interesting prospect. Never even heard of him until now when I was looking at the Indiana recruit rankings on 247. He has good size at 6'4" and shows pretty good speed. I have no idea if there is mutual interest or how his grades are, but I hope he gets an invite to II.

-Then we have Cam Williams and Jack Kiser. Both are probably ROVER prospects. Wiltfong put in a ND CB for Williams last April. BK just followed Kiser on twitter so I would look to see where that goes.
