With the new Hill audio, I think he's at minimum suspended by the league for 1-2 years, and dropped by the Chiefs within a week.

Would think the police reopen the investigation.

On the impact to the NFL and the Chiefs.... Another bad look. This really kicks the Chiefs in the nuts.

On the most important issue, abuse of a child, this is just disgusting. I'm all for second chances generally, but my Old Testament side is speaking loudly right now.

I'm hoping for terrible things to occur to Hill. I don't ever want to see him in the league again. He better get a 2 year ban minimum or at least until he loses his speed.

Most of me agrees. There's a part of me who thinks that him crashing out of the NFL harms his son more than anything. If he can actually change, I hope he gets a second chance only for his son's benefit.

This may be a situation in which his NFL career is over.

Chiefs, NFL likely to take action on Tyreek Hill this week

He is suspended by the Chiefs, the criminal investigation is reopened, will be on the Exempt list and is a free agent in 2020. Who is going to take him?

In March, word was that the Chiefs were working on a record-setting WR deal with Hill, until his alleged involvement in battery came to light. To go from that to being out of the NFL...

He'll have suitors if it's only a year suspension and he doesn't go to jail.
I could see the evil genius (BB) get a cheap deal and take advantage of the situation. I could see da Raidas, be da Raidas and give him a deal.

Could be mistaken, but I think Kraft forbids them from signing/drafting players with any sort of domestic violence or a more random assault (like a Mixon or Hunt) in their past.

Patriots I know took Talib after he assaulted that cab driver or something.

Wonder if the Pats have an in house masseuse to keep players even keeled

I guess I meant any sort of assault on a female (since Mixon/Hunt weren’t domestic as far as I know). Again, I could be wrong but that’s just what I’ve heard/read multiple places.

LeVeon Bell reports he had a million dollars in jewelry and clothes stolen. The best part was when 911 asked him what the suspects were wearing.

New York Jets running back Le'Veon Bell was the victim of an alleged theft.

Here is everything of note Bell said on the call:

“Well, I had two girls in my house. And I got up, and I did my normal routine to go to work out. So I left the workout for a couple hours. When I came back, they took my money, they took my watch, my jewelry, a couple more of my things of value out of my house. I don’t know where they’re at. I tried to call them before I called you guys. I tried to call them and they’re not answering me, and they’re ignoring me."

The 911 operator asked Bell to rehash what was allegedly stolen. He then mentioned clothes and shoes, in addition to the jewelry. The operator then asked Bell for the total estimated value of the items. His answer: “Oh, like a million dollars.”

Bell, 27, was asked to describe the women who allegedly stole from him. His answer: “They’re both mixed [race].” Bell told the operator that the darker-skinned woman in the duo is 23.

The operator asked Bell what the woman was wearing on the day of the incident.

Bell’s answer: “When I left, she was in the bed not wearing clothes ... so I didn’t see her, when she [left the house].”

Amazing, Adrian Peterson has made $100M in his career and is broke. Lawyer claims he got bad advice, but it appears he just likes to spend money instead of investing some.

Adrian Peterson Is Dead Broke Because He Was Too Dumb to Buy Stocks

https://www.ccn.com/news/adrian-peterson-broke-dumb-stocks/2019/07/24/

Lawyer: Peterson in debt, trusted wrong people

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/27245145/lawyer-peterson-debt-trusted-wrong-people

Washington Redskins running back Adrian Peterson was "trusting the wrong people," his attorney said, and is deep in debt after making nearly $100 million during his NFL career.

Peterson is being sued for failing to repay a $5.2 million loan, The Athletic reported.

According to The Athletic, Peterson owes, after interest and legal fees, $6.6 million to DeAngelo Vehicle Sales, which claimed in a lawsuit filed in New York that Peterson had defaulted on his loan. Peterson had borrowed money from the lending company to pay off other creditors. He also must pay a combined $3 million to two other creditors.

"The truth behind Adrian Peterson's current financial situation is more than is being reported at this time," Peterson's attorney, Chase Carlson, said Tuesday in a statement. "Because of ongoing legal matters, I am unable to go into detail, but I will say this is yet another situation of an athlete trusting the wrong people and being taken advantage of by those he trusted. Adrian and his family look forward to sharing further details when appropriate."

Carlson declined further comment.

According to The Athletic, Peterson had defaulted on other loans, leading him to secure the $5.2 million loan from DVS on Oct. 26, 2016, while playing for the Minnesota Vikings. That money was to help pay $3.2 million to Thrivest Specialty Funding and $1.34 million to Crown Bank.

Peterson still owes $600,000 to Crown, and a Maryland judge last week said he must pay $2.4 million to Democracy Capital Corp., The Athletic reported.

Because the lawyers for DVS represented Peterson in another lawsuit, Peterson's attorney said there was a conflict of interest. That led to a judge cancelling Peterson's deposition Monday. Peterson's side said his confidential information was not properly obtained.

"As I have stated to Mr. Peterson's counsel, my firm has never held Mr. Peterson out as a client to third-parties," DVS attorney Darren Heitner said Tuesday via email. "Heitner Legal was never communicating with Mr. Peterson. There was and is no actual or perceived conflict of interest. No confidential information was obtained by Heitner Legal from Mr. Peterson. I view Mr. Peterson's tactics as nothing more than the latest attempt to stall the taking of his deposition."

Added Heitner: "I have no knowledge as to Mr. Peterson's personal assets. Based on experience, creditors with judgments in hand may be able to garnish some of his future wages."

The Redskins report to training camp Wednesday. Peterson will enter camp competing with Derrius Guice for the starting running back position. Peterson, who rushed for 1,042 yards last season, signed a two-year deal worth up to $5 million and includes annual incentives of $1.5 million.

Yeah sure. Waiting on Gattaca and/or Wiz to bump our old league thread or make a new one.

I'm on the Mayfield/OBJ hype train this year. I might even be the conductor. I think those two personalities, while volatile and have the potential for a spectacular blowup, are actually going to complement each other.

Baker hates losing as much as OBJ hates not getting targets. So when OBJ starts getting frustrated, Baker is gonna get pissed off back at him... but instead of a falling out, Baker is just gonna force feed him the ball. And they're both such stubborn blockheads that it's gonna result in a bunch of clutch receptions and TD's lol.

Honestly I cannot stand Baker and his antics and I hope he's humbled in his 2nd season....which inevitably means he is in for a huge season.

I just had a very early draft last weekend for one of my home leagues. 12 team standard scoring, I had the 3 spot, and drafted Kamara, Chubb, Damien Williams, R Woods, Godwin, Luck, Ronald Jones, Ekler, Coutee, Damien Harris were my top 10 picks. The last 6 are just flyers. Im feeling damn good about that draft. I will probably end up trading Ekler for another WR.

Man, that's early. Now you all have to sit back and hope none of your draftees get hurt.

I do all of my drafts the week after labor day. Look at the board with the pre-season casualties out of the way.

In this league, we normally draft the Sunday before the first NFL Thursday night game. And we always do a live draft. This year, we cant get everyone together in August, so we said Fuk it, and just decided to live draft at our annual golf outing, which fell on last weekend. I've personally never drafted this early before.

No FF league draft should ever take place outside outside the 3rd/4th preseason game period

NFL.com's Top 15 players; how they ranked on Rivals...

1) Aaron Donald: 3-star (5.7)
2) Drew Brees: no data, but no interest from in-state schools; UNC said no, landed at PU
3) Khail Mack: 2-star (4.9 rank), went to Buffalo
4) Patrick Mahomes: 3-star (5.7)
5) Todd Gurley: 4-star (6.0), no.5 RB
6) Tom Brady: no data, seen as a baseball prospect; not heavily-recruited in football
7) Anonio Brown: unranked (Central Michigan)
8) Aaron Rodgers: 3-star
9) Julio Jones: 5-star (6.1); no.1 WR
10) Von Miller: 4-star (5.8); no.15 WDE
11) DeAndre Hopkins: 4-star (5.8), no 12 ATH
12) JJ Watt: 2-star (5.4)
13) Michael Thomas: 4-star (5.8), no.4
14) Alvin Kamara, 5-star (6.1)
15) Bobby Wagner, 2-star (4.9), Utah State

Wow, interesting how many SUPER STUDS slipped through the cracks. Basically 5/14 ranked 4 stars or higher. Only two identified as what they were, and you would have had to have been blind not to give those two 5-star rankings.

To me, the lesson is that they are judging kids based on some pretty easy to identify criteria (height, weight, speed, high school success, 7 on 7s, and camps), but they don't really have any special insight into who will pan out or why.

This is why I am not as high on Trevor Lawrence as some... The team he has around him makes a HUGE difference.
