Time limits with notifications and resulting in the next team picking might work.

I think the steps should be that after two or three hours a pm is sent and if they don't respond within one hour, then it is announced as a free pick. Whoever pipes up first gets it.

There is no world where a team would unload all of their QB's, including a franchise QB like Dalton, to draft a QB in one of the worst draft classes in a long time. It's malarkey.

Need we remind you that Donald Trump is President? There is no "There is no world where....." anymore.

With that proposal, how many picks could Chicago accumulate?

in the real draft if you dont get your pick in time it just moves to the next slot and you get your pick in whenever you can right?

The Carolina Panthers pick Mike Williams, WR from Clemson.

Williams has a great frame, catching radius, leaping ability, a deep threat and has the ability to slant over the middle. CBs in the NFL will have difficulty defending him, especially in the red zones. He will improve the Panthers passing offense, ranked 21st in yds/game, 19th in TD production with 21 (tied with San Francisco) but had 19 Interceptions. Cam Newton was ranked 46th in passer rating just ahead of RG3. Kelvin Benjamin was their best WR, ranking 40th in receptions with 63 for the season. He was not the same after recovering from an ACL injury. Devin Funchess has been a disappointment with only 23 receptions for the season. The Panthers filled some holes for now with free agent signings of Matt Kahlil, OT and Julius Peppers, DE.

Alternatives considered included O.J. Howard, Dalvin Cook, Cam Robinson, OT, Jonathan Allen, DE, or best available Edge rushers.

The wrong card was handed in and a correction has been made in the draft. The Panthers select Mike Williams, WR Clemson. Legacy will provide all the necessary reasoning.

With the 9th pick in the 2017 IE Mock Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals select:

Jonathan Allen, DL, Alabama

2016-10-22T224915Z_2041657145_NOCID_RTRMADP_3_NCAA-FOOTBALL-TEXAS-A-M-AT-ALABAMA.jpg

This was truly a "best available" pick. We thought about Reuben Foster and Derek Barnett, and even entertained notions of OJ Howard. Foster would have given the Bengals the ILB they're looking for, but they just signed Kevin Minter, so that can wait a year. Barnett is a guy that can be Carlos Dunlap but better at getting to the QB, but idk if the value was quite there in the top-10. And Howard was a tempting thought, simply for thinking of Eifert and Howard on the field together at the same time, and all of the alignment possibilities that would present.

But when it came down to it, Allen was just entirely too much value at no. 9 to pass up. He's not only better than the 9th pick he fell to (he's a top-5 talent), but he also increases the value of the ENTIRE Cincinnati DL. Putting Allen on the DL presents a few options, all of which make Geno Atkins more of a nightmare than he already is.

You can put Allen at DE in a base 4-3 on early downs, and have a stout run defender that can still get after the QB from the edge if the offense goes pass-heavy, which allows you to save Michael Johnson and keep him fresh until 2nd/3rd-and-long. When Johnson comes in, you can slide Allen to the interior, at which point the offensive line needs to determine whether Allen or Atkins is getting to the QB... because let's face it: between those two, one of them is putting [Brown's QB] on his ass.

Allen is a flex DL that can play outside or inside, pending situation, and do either at a high level. This helps to keep the aging DE's (Johnson/Dunlap) fresh, and makes Geno Atkins more formidable than he already is.

And if Billings from Baylor is healthy and playing quality DT minutes on early downs? That DL could be downright scary with the addition of Allen.

With the 10th pick in the 2017 NFL draft the Buffalo Bills select Ruben Foster, LB Alabama

9804889-ncaa-football-chick-fil-a-peach-bowl-alabama-vs-washington-850x560.jpeg

Bills need to give Tyrod and Sammy some help and I thought long and hard about this but not sure if their is a WR worth taking in the top 10 this year. Plus the Bills can continue to focus on building up their defense in order to maybe slow down the Pats. But they also need to score with the Pats. I wouldn't mind if the Bills selected Williams or Davis but I feel Foster is a for sure bet plus with the loss of Brown and I couldn't name a Bills LB. Foster can also play in the 3-4 or 4-3 and be a missile for years

With the eleventh pick of the IrishEnvy Mock Draft, the New Orleans Saints select Derek Barnett, DE from Tennessee.

It takes a lot to make the SEC All-Conference teams for the defensive line but Barnett has done so three times in his three years at Tennessee. This year's SEC 1st string DL was Myles Garrett, Jonathan Allen, Carl Lawson and Barnett. Four out of PFF's top five edge rushers are from the SEC with only Soloman Thomas at number four interrupting. They rank Barnett as #2 in Edge Rushers in 2016 and in 2015. PFF also had Barnett as #3 on their big board.

Barnett is the only one that can match Myles Garrett's production. As a freshman, Barnett had 20.5 tackles for loss (which led the SEC) and 10 sacks in 2014. Barnett led the Vols with 10 more sacks in 2015. In his junior year, Barnett was a first-team All-SEC pick and first-team All-American with 18 tackles for loss and 12 sacks (which ranked sixth in the FBS). Barnett’s 37 combined sacks and hits this past season were far and away the most in college football. He also has 22 total sacks the past two seasons. Character, consistency and motivation are not problems.

A talented Edge Rusher like Barnett will solidify New Orleans' DLine. He has the advantage of regularly penetrating backfields and pressures the QB on twenty percent of his rushes. He regularly wins on first contact, jarring linemen backwards, has good balance, uses leverage and strength, plays the run game well and uses his hands well. Barnett is best as a 4-3 DE, which is what NO runs, but could also be an OLB in a 3-4. Barnett will assume the DE position opposite Cam Jordan (age 27), who was twelfth among DEs in tackles last year. On the inside, Nick Farley (age 29) ranked 40th in tackles last year and Sheldon Rankin (age 23) played only nine games, but had four sacks, 3 tackles for loss, six QB hits and one forced fumble.

The Saints also need a CB, but that class is deep. That need can be addressed with the 32nd pick. Most of the teams from 14-21 as well as some teams at the end of the first round may well be looking for Edge Rushers. Barnett is just too good and fills too much of a need to pass up.

The alternative was Taco Charlton or best available CB.

Bills could've gone with OJ Howard and that would've been a nice addition.

They use crappy TE's pretty well, so Taylor could probably cause real problems if he had a good TE to throw to.

The Jets entered the 2017 draft with needs at QB, OL, CB, LB, and RB.

After no trades materialized for the Bears at #3 and all 5 picks choosing not to draft a QB, combined with The Jets picking up Josh McCown this offseason, the Jets felt moving the #6 pick was the best thing to do.

This allows the Jets the luxury of drafting for need or best available at #12, as well as gain an extra early 2nd round pick to grab that need if we choose best available route.

As far as the big board. With no OL grabbed at this point, it would be nice to grab the top OL on the board in Ryan Ramcyzk from Wisconsin, but we have other players higher rated and available, and will try and grab a top OL in the second.

OJ Howard would fill a giant need for the Jet's as well and ranks high on our best available, but is not a must have position.

Tre'Davious White is our highest rated CB left on the board and would be a good fit, however as mentioned previously, this class is deep at corner and with two 2nd round picks we feel we can get great value at this position later.

With that said, with the 12th pick in the 2017 NFL IE Mock Draft, the New York East Rutherford Jets select.....................................................................................
Mitch Trubisky, Quarterback, University of North Carolina
AR-160839910.jpg&maxh=400&maxw=667

The Jets could have took a qb at #6, but felt we could get any one of Watson/Kizer at #12. However, the way the draft worked out the top rated QB fell to us again and the Jets couldn't pass on him twice. Even though the Jets signed McCown this offseason to try and plug the hole at QB, but everyone in the league knows McCown is just your typical gap bridge QB. His pick up will allow our team to be competitive this season while providing great leadership and guidance to Mitch, the most day 1 ready qb in this years draft. The Jets feel they have the qb of the future and have two early second round picks to help build the rest of the team with big needs still at CB and OL.

Things worked out well for the Jets there huh

The QB run officially on? The Cards could go QB first to get someone ready for life post-Palmer. Kizer would be a good fit to sit behind Palmer for a year and learn the system.

The Cardinals enter the draft with many needs, including a WR to replace Floyd, CB, OL (in particular G) and LB.

The Cardinals need to make a decision on their direction for the year. Do they try to make one last run behind Palmer or do they build for the future?

With the 13th pick in the 2017 NFL draft, the Arizona Cardinals select Deshone Kizer, QB from Notre Dame. Rarely does a QB who is perfect for your system fall to you at 13, and that is what happened for Arians and the Cardinals here.

Kizer has a strong arm, a good deep ball especially outside the hashes and is good at keep a play alive but needs to work on his accuracy and on checking down when nothing is available deep.

Why couldn't Kizer have gone to Houston to take snaps behind Martin and throw to Fuller? Besides that, good write up and video.

"Jets, Jets, Jets!" Is Draft Day lore.

With the 14th Pick in the 2017 NFL draft the Indianapolis Colts select OT Cam Robinson from the University of Alabama.

The Colts have to find a way to protect Andrew Luck and quit wasting the golden years of his career. With so many holes to fill the Colts will start this draft by addressing a need that has been here since Andrew Luck has been here.
