Wow this team has a swag about them right now. They are running up and down the floor and they look really good doing it.

Farrell is hurt. Headed to the locker room. Rolled his ankle

Okay, between Farrel, Bonzie, and all the girls on the womens team that got hurt someone in the basketball offices must have broken a mirror while walking under a ladder that was in the path of a black cat.

Not any more. They just brought a walk on from the practice squad to the active roster. They might be playing with only two guards.

We are up 12 at half and we scored the most pts in any ACC half but without bonzie and Farrell it’s gonna be hard to even see a tourney bid

Farrell is on bench with ankle tapped up but he isn’t warming up. I think we have to bit the bullet and sit him and hope the rest of team can finish the game

So let’s say hypothetically that Farrell is out 6 weeks (probably not likely) hat would truely be a blessing in disguise when it comes to the future of this team. We are very young and we are going to be really good next year with the haul we have coming in PLUS the transfer from UConn.

Ya Durham is gonna be a monster so maybe it is a blessing in disguise but the hype we had for this year is very disappointing if that’s true

I don’t care how the rest of the season goes, OK I do but, this is impressive to watch. This is a program with some serious pride

Don't know how the rest of the season will go, but tonight they're going "next man in"!

Early congrats (going to bed) to Brey on passing Digger for all time wins.

Two hall of fame coaches!

Well tonight sucks because we might lose Farrell for some time, but this is the most fun game I have watched this year. The guys are playing like they have nothing to lose and are flowing so well because of it.

You can see it on their faces. I honestly don't know if this team was even this upbeat and loose when we were killing LSU in Maui.

Its kind of fitting that in the game that is going to make "the loosest coach in America" the winningest coach in program history that the team is playing like the loosest team I've seen in a long time.

I agree they are playing loose and they are playing like they are having fun. They have nothing to lose they have their best 2 players out mind as well just have fun while playing

Also big congrats to coach brey on being winningest coach in program history. He deserves it too he is such a nice human being and I wouldn’t trade him for anyone to coach this team. He always has a smile on his and it just makes me happy to always watch ND b-ball even when we do lose

Congrats Coach!!

Is that speculation OR did that come out of a presser?

CMB says he is "very questionable" for Saturday. He's hoping he'll be back for Georgia Tech, Wednesday. Twisted ankle - very swollen.

Bonzie actually broke his foot last Friday in practice. No contact. Played vs. GT and went for 22 pts and 17 rebs on the foot.

Wow. Wtf?

Assuming this is in response to the Bonzie thing, he just reported it was sore after the practice so he still played. They thought having some days off would make it better and when it didn't is when they examined it and saw the break. Its not like they ran him out there for the game knowing it was broken or anything like that.

I meant more "how did he have a 17 rebound game on a broken foot"

This game was a ton of fun - to address some of the chicken little work on the previous page 1) Torres hit a free throw (whole team went nuts) 2) We out rebounded them 41-30

Is it me or does Mooney's shooting motion remind anyone of Bill Cartwright. That hitch in his motion just does not instill confidence but damn is that release point high and so far 42% from deep is hard to argue with.

Same feeling when Rex is herky jerky rushing FT attempts. Feel like Rex's shooting motion a bit off and rushed - preventing him for going from solid to dangerous offensively. FT - 95% as frosh, 65% last year and I would have never guessed he is 81% this year - has not felt like 81% for sure.

Burns looks like he can bring some fire and beef- this opportunity should give him a chance to settle into some PT and give some quality minutes as the season moves on. Looks like potential for a reliable FT shooter which is essential for off ball working to the hoop.

Team needs to take better care of the ball - hopefully some of it is yips that will iron out with comfort on the court. Lots of room for improved efficiency (and we were still pretty efficient).

20 assists on 29 FGs - THAT is Brey ball. Team had been looking to Colson and Farrell to do all the scoring and now suddenly go back to letting the flow determine who gets the shot.

Congrats to Coach Brey - very deserving and good to get that out of the way. Bonzi going down sucks rocks but IMO this makes thing VERY interesting. Brey is setting the target at 9-9 in ACC play to make the NCAAs - 7-9 from hear looks a lot better than it did this time yesterday!

......................

Good post. I think the jury is still out on Burns. He just looks slow and not all that athletic (sounds like a Brey big). I will have to see how he progresses through the next couple games. 7 more wins in ACC play is very likely if they can play at 75% of what they did last night, the rest of the year.

Go Irish!
