Anyone watching? Loy says BK said Kraemer was "the guy" at RG while others simply said he is "involved". Guessing Tommy Loy is jumping the gun but wanting to make sure.

24/7 has seemingly had the most delayed and least accurate reporting of the presser - so I assume it was just jumping the gun if no one else reported it said that way - which would be big news.

How can Kraemer already be starting? He wasn't an EE, correct? So basically hasn't even practiced. Has to be a misprint.

What Kelly actually said was that Kraemer would be "the freshman involved at RG"... I don't know how Loy twisted that to imply him being the starter.

With that being said, I expect Kraemer to win the job. I think if Hoge was ready to play he would've been more competitive for the job at center and Mustipher would be RG, just IMO.

Thanks. I'm rooting for Bivin. Big, strong, old, saved others' eligibility.

"Freshman involved" and "guy" must be synonyms in Loy's book.

I just wanna take a minute and let all of you know how much I appreciate the fact that "Loy'd" is a term that has become such a natural and pervasive term on IE.

Just an absolutely flawless transition into the collective vocabulary, and I commend us all, as a group.

I would think you'd rather have the older guy at C, and the less inexperienced kid at OG. Center has a lot more responsibility.

And it's a shame that McGovern isn't competing.

I like Rochelle and Onwaulu leading the defense. They both have a tough demeanor and are hustle players. The whole unit needs to play the same way to make up for the lack of play makers.

Always impressive when a freshman can get regular playing time on the o-line let alone win a starting job.

P.S. Thanks Ironman.

No one on our defense is an elite player, though. Believe it or not, Onwualu is the most proven LB and a multi-year starter and Rochelle is the most proven DL and a multi-year starter.

I don't mind not having elite players lead... I mean, our best defense under Ty was led by a bunch of good players but not great... I think if we finally get the system, this defense can be top 25...

Rochelle might not be "elite" but he'll be playing on Sundays, he's no scrub.

I guess that's my point. Without an elite player, I prefer tough, consistent and hard working players take over the locker room. Lack of elite talent can be overcome on the defensive side of the ball if everyone is hustling and doing their job.

I like Rochell a lot more after learning that he's been playing with back problems. Guy is a baller and will play well. I just hope the staff can find a backup to give him a breather.

Malik on the mic, getting spiritual. #BlackTebow #TeamMalik

Personally, I'm a little sick and tired of the "winners" attitude where everyone has to speak and talk at every moment like they already are what they are trying to be. It's an outgrowth of name and claim it Christianity and sales motivation culture.
Both QBs are good kids, so I shope they can stay away from showing too much of it.

Agreed. Matakevich and his Court of Owls, and Boston College's Infinite Unknowns were tough outs for reasons unrelated to elite players.

Rochell is the type of defensive lineman that is appreciated most by the linebacker who plays behind him. He never gets driven back, never gives offensive lineman clean releases into the second level and he plays assignment football.

Never hear anything bad about him. He just bust his ass all the time. He has been a huge contributor to this team.
