ND offered 2013 NC WR Keeon Johnson. ND is his first out of state offer and he has been offered by every D1 school in NC

Clocked a 4.52 40 and a 37 inch vertical at a under armour combine in early june 2011.

Thank god. Hope they are turning it up in Georgia. They need to attend some Tucker and Grayson games this fall.

The front board has us only looking good for James Quick at WR and no one for corner. does anyone know of any prospects that we look good for not on that list?

Based on Ezekiel Elliott's interest in ND, should he make the list on the front page? I believe there is mutual interest, no? The staff seems to be in a familiar position with this position group this cycle (as it was w DB's last cycle, see Marcus Rios). If they offered Elliott, he may very well jump and commit and in doing so take an available spot from somone like Ryan Green or Kieth Ford. They have to hold a spot for Isaac, and they can't be looking for 3 backs, so it feels like some of what we just went through with slow playing recruits. Uggh.

Wiltfong put up a tweet saying a top-50 prospect was visiting ND today. Anybody know who? I'd presume a Midwest guy like Bosch or Pocic.

Top-50 prospect visiting Notre Dame today. notredame.247sports.com/Board/87/Top50… via @247Sports #Irish

edit: Saw GITF's post in Bosch's profile. It's him.

SOMEONE ON 247 POSTED THIS NOT ME, BEST (AND MOST OPTIMISTIC) BREAKDOWN I HAVE SEEN

Players Within the Top 50

#3 – Laremy Tunsil – OT – 6’6”/275 – Lake City, FL -- Offered

#5 – Jaylon Smith – OLB – 6’3”/220 – Fort Wayne, IN -- Offered

#7 – Vernon Hargreaves III – CB – 5’11”/180 – Tampa, FL -- Offered

#9 – Su’a Cravens – S – 6’1”/205 – Murrieta, CA -- Offered

#11 – Robert Foster – WR – 6’3”/190 – Monaca, PA -- Offered

#16 – MacKensie Alexander – CB – 5’11”/175 – Immokalee, FL -- Offered

#22 – EJ Levenberry – ILB - 6’3”/230 – Woodbridge, VA -- Offered

#26 – Alquadin Muhammad – DE/OLB – 6’4”/230 – Ramsey, NJ -- Offered

#29 – Ty Isaac – RB – 6’2”/215 – Joliet, IL -- Offered

#30 – Adam Breneman – TE – 6’5”/225 -- Camp Hill, PA -- Offered

#38 – Joey Bosa – DE/OLB – 6’5”/260 – Fort Lauderdale, FL -- Offered

#40 – Leon McQuay III – S – 6’2”/185 – Tampa, FL -- Offered

#41 – Ethan Pocic- OT – 6’7”/280 – LeMont, IL -- Offered

#49 – James Quick – WR – 6’1”/180 – Louisville, KY -- Offered
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All of the above-listed players are currently ranked in the top fifty prospects of 2013 by 247. I realize MacKensie Alexander is currently committed to Tennessee, but given how he's been flirting with other schools, it's a very loose commitment at best to the point I wouldn't even consider it a 'commitment'.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s very tough to say what our weaknesses will be in 2013 given we haven't even gotten to the spring of 2012 so I am going to have to based everything on our deficiencies heading into the spring.

Based on our current roster, we need to make a few of these potentially-elite prospects priorities over the others because of either positional weakness or lacking positional depth. These prospects IMO are:

-Jaylon Smith has to be priority #1 for us because while we have good depth at the OLB position, we seem to be getting OLB/DE athletes that fit into the OLB spot more-so than the DE spot. Because of this, I expect some of our OLB's (such as Ishaq) to get big enough to the point where they will slide down to DE and someone else will need to step into the OLB spot. Not only that, but he is a top-five player in the country and is an Indiana-native so I feel we NEED to get him more than anyone just to let the other powers of the nation know that Indiana players are off-limits.

-Vernon Hargreaves is priority #2 because we are lacking at the CB position as of now. Tee Shepard could be a special player for us, and we have unknown entities in Bennett Jackson, Jalen Brown, Josh Atkinson, and Co. that could come up big this year, but that doesn’t diminish the fact that we need depth at CB, and we need talented depth that can step in right away and contribute as well as develop into a lockdown corner opposite Tee so that Diaco can dial up more defensively.

-Robert Foster is a big, elite, game-breaking WR. At 6’3”, he is the premier talent we are looking for, especially if no one is able to somewhat fill MF3’s shoes in 2012. With his speed, size, and ball skills, he could very well develop into our next record-setting WR.

-Adam Breneman is an absolute must in this class. He is the best TE in the country and despite being a Penn St. lean early, I think he can be swung in our favor given our track record with TE’s and the recent events of Penn St. Seeing as how we passed on 2012 TE Taylor McNamara (still a mistake IMO), we cannot settle for a good TE when McNamara will be great and Breneman will be even better.

-Ethan Pocic is a big, aggressive OT and becomes even more important to us with Kyle Bosch surprisingly committing to Michigan on a whim yesterday (although I very much doubt that battle is over). Pocic, combined with All-World OT Steve Elmer, would give us one of the scariest potential OT duos Notre Dame has ever seen.

Top Targets Outside the Top 50

#56 – Isaac Savaiinaea – ILB – 6’3”/230 – Honolulu, HI -- No Offer

-He may be a bit of a long shot, but he goes to the same HS as Manti Te’o. Hopefully he can visit, have Manti host him, and learn what a beast he can be in our 3-4 defense while earning a top-flight degree that will set him up for the rest of his life. Isaac is a big, strong, quick LB with great instincts (sound familiar?) He could step in and play early much like the other big names on this list.

#65 – Tim Kimbrough – ILB – 6’1”/225 – Indianapolis, IN -- Surprisingly, No Offer Yet

#67 -- Cole Luke -- CB -- 6'/170 -- Chandler, AZ -- Offered

-While we are a bit behind the 8-ball on his offer, I feel we have a good shot with him as the #1 player in AZ 2013 seeing as how he's very similar to the latest ND addition, #1 player in AZ 2012 Davonte Neal. Hopefully Davonte can do some recruiting and we can sway him towards ND. He is a very quick, very talented CB. He has a nose for the ball and a nose for the endzone.

#70 – Ahmad Fulwood – WR – 6’4”/200 – Jacksonville, FL -- Offered

-Fulwood could very well be a higher priority than many of the top fifty prospects just because of his elite size. At 6’4”, he has elite ball-skill abilities and has already said he wants to get out of Florida which can only help us. While James Quick would be a very, very good WR for us in the slot, I think I would prefer Fulwood just because of the mismatches he causes. With him playing for ND, we could slide bigger, yet still very fast WR’s like Chris Brown inside and be a matchup nightmare for all of our opponents. Play zone, Gunner (or whatever QB is starting) can pick apart the zone or run; play man and our WR’s elite speed and size will win-out.

#74 – Laquon Treadwell – WR – 6’3”/195 – Crete, IL -- Offered

#75 -- Hunter Bivin -- OT -- 6'7"/290 -- Owensboro, KY -- Offered

-Bivin is a big, athletic OT that has very good feet for someone so large. He has shown the ability to move his feet in pass blocking and the drive in run blocking. He has interest in ND and hopefully we are all over him. He seems to be a kid that wants to play at ND and we would be lucky to have him.

#77 – Ryan Green – RB – 5’10”/195 – St. Petersburg, FL -- Offered

-He seemed to be favoring ND early, which was outstanding considering he is a very patient, very quick RB. With his size, he is an every-down back that could come in and play early because he also has great hands. However, with his offer and trip to Florida, he seems to be destined to stay closer to home.

#79 – Max Redfield – S – 6’3”/195 – Mission Viejo, CA -- Offered

#93 -- Hunter Henry -- TE -- 6'5"/235 -- Little Rock, AR -- Offered

Top Targets Outside the Top 100

#103 – Elijah Daniel – DE/OLB – 6’4”/250 – Avon, IN -- Surprisingly, No Offer Yet

- I really like Daniel. He is a prototypical DE/OLB in the 34 defense and is an in-state kid. He shows enough quickness to play the stand-up linebacker position with the mindset and tenacity to put his hand down as a DE. I think after a year or two with Mr. Longo, Daniel could be 6’4”/280 and our next Aaron Lynch. Much like Jaylon Smith, it’s imperative that we get the in-state kids.

#105 – Derrick Green – RB – 6’/215 – Richmond, VA -- No Offer

#117 – Brett Wade – ILB – 6’1”/215 – Kennedale, TX -- No Offer

-Wade may be lacking ideal size for a 34 ILB, but he is a ball-hawking LB. He has very good mobility and doesn’t miss tackles. He has also said that ND is a favorite and I believe he could land with ND in the end.

#119 – Nadir Barnwell – ATH – 5’10”/175 – Piscataway, NJ -- Offered

#155 - Priest Willis - CB - 6'2"/200 - Tempe, AZ -- Offered

-Big, physically-imposing CB with surprising quickness. Great ball skills and solid tackler. Seems to really like ND and the signing of Davonte Neal can only help us. Ultimately, I think we are in it to the end and he ends up in ND.
#159 – Jacob Matuska – TE – 6’5”/240 – Columbus, OH -- Offered

-It’s odd putting a kid from Columbus on this list, but I feel he is a great back-up in case Breneman doesn’t end up in South Bend. He is a big, talented TE with great hands and I believe he is almost a lock for ND if we want him.

#164 – Garrett Sickels – 6’4”/230 – Little Silver, NJ -- Offered

#178 -- Chans Cox -- ILB -- 6'2"/220 -- Lakeside, AZ -- Offered

-One of a handful of ILB's we have offered and seems to be a RKG. Not only is he still getting bigger, but he's a 4.5-4.6 40 guy already as well as a great student and kid. I wouldn't be surprised to see him show up to campus Fall 2013 at 240 lbs. or so and ready to contribute as a true freshman.

#233 -- LJ Moore – CB -- 6’2”/185 – Fresno, CA -- Offered

-While not the most highly ranked kid, LJ could be a great fit in our defense. Not only could we pair him with Fresno-native Tee Shepard, but he would provide us with the flexibility to move him around because of his outstanding size.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
