I figured this would happen. Spond started having migraines and other head issues again when camp started. That's why he has been out. May have suffered another stroke if he has the cane.
Damn...Randolph is done for the year.
Damn...
REALLY hope Springman is back for scUM. Don't really care about Temple - let the young guys get reps.
Yeah, I just like the kid. Spond is the major bummer.Not a huge loss, I don't think he would have seen a meaningful minute.
What young guys haha? Matuska, Rochell, Jones & Utupo. That's it. Rochell was gonna play anyways probably and Matuska will probably RS still
Who's Danny Smith?
So Ishaq is playing DE, OLB, & MLB depending on formation. Interesting. They definitely want him on the field

Freshman Cole Luke played the nickel position with the first defense. Austin Collinsworth came on to join them in the dime look. In dime, Ishaq Williams played as a middle linebacker. He was a rush end along with Shembo in nickel.

Notre Dame frequently blitzed Austin Collinsworth in the nickel and dime looks with Jarrett Grace dropping into coverage behind him. Grace played with the second-team in most other situations behind Calabrese and Fox.
Interesting, very interesting stuff
So to get back to this:
Is Dime w/ 3 lineman? Because it sounds like it was , Collinsworth, Luke, the 4 starting DBs presumably, Ishaq, & Grace
I'm guessing Nickel was like last year except Grace w/ Fox and Luke instead of Shumate.

#NotreDame freshman running back Tarean Folston not in attendance today at practice.
It's either 3 down lineman and 2 LBs, or 4 DL and 1 LB from what I understand. But yes, either way, 6 DBs.
Dime = 6 DBs....Nickel = 5DBs
The Dime could be a 4-1-6 or 3-2-6 look and the Nickel could be a 3-3-5 or 4-2-5 look.
