I figured AJ would be fine in the playoffs. Doesn't he have like a August-Sept slump every year?

He's been pretty bad all year. He was 11-11 with a 5.15 era.

When AJ's on he's a pretty good pitcher, unfortunately he's barely ever on

Fister is vastly over rated. Nova is a stud. A-Rod and Tex decided to show up for the series. I don't think this one will be pretty. The Rangers should start packing for New York.

Side note: AJ Burnett....WTF?!?!?!! Stunned by his perfomance last night. Terrifying first inning, but rolled after that. I won't say anything bad about the guy until his next implosion (hopefully next season).

Reminds me of Jeff Weaver when the Cards won it a few years again. Thought he deserved the MVP instead of Eckstein, both were deserving though.

Another squirrel runs on the field at Phils cards game. This time it ran in front of home plate during a pitch distracting Oswalt.

Lookin' like a Motor City night. Fister's only been in trouble once, in the 4th when NY loaded the bases with 1 out. He shut down Martin and Gardner. Meanwhile Yanks on their 4th pitcher, CC, and he gave up a run his first inning. Bottom 5th 3-0 Tigers

Ballsy stuff from Leyland declaring Verlander wouldn't pitch. Challenged his club. They have responded.

It may be sacrilege coming from a Red Sox fan, but I LOVE Cano. I think I'd still take Pedroia, but they're both top-5/10 players in the game. Love Cano.

Yanks got a run to make it 3-2 but missed the opportunity for the tie and a big inning. ARod whiffed with one out. Tex got a BB RBI. Than Swisher K'd missing two ball wide of the plate. IF he lays off it'd be a tie.

Tigers 3-2 end of 7

Yank fan from Michigan? You taking a sick day tomorrow?

Awesome series, right down to the end. As much as I love Jeter, Cano and Mo, every non-Yankee fan is reveling in the fact that A-rod is the goat again. Couldn't happen to a better guy.

Wasted freaking opportunities. Good thing A-Rod is locked up under contract for the next 15 years. Still think Tex's postseason batting average has to be lower than A-Rod's. What's with that ridiculous uppercut swing?

they had the bases loaded twice and martin poped out to the infield and arod strikes out. so arod is not the only goat here.In the end of things you have to give the tigers credit because they played a great game and did what it took to win. I know in the offseason the yanks have to go get some realiable pitching. congrats to all the tigers fans and good luck.

Swisher was a complete non-factor. Texeira was scary bad. He came out of his shoes on just about every swing, and hit .167 for the series (somehow that was imporvement over the .ZERO-ZERO-ZERO- .000- he posted against Texas in the ALCS). Career .207 postseason hitter.

Really feel bad for Posada. He played one helluva series.

Haha, should have...double whammy for me because all the tiger fans up here are scum fans too, I'm just getting hammered. I never was a fan of arod...but nobody really produced other than jorgie and gardner. My dad was born in new rochelle and lived there till he was 12...so I've been a lifer, donnie baseball being my childhood hero. I just get sick of the "I can't stand the Yankees because they buy their championships" maybe I'm wrong but what rule are they breaking? Do the yankees stop a salary cap from being implemented? Ahh no that would be the players themselves. Illitch is top 3 in wealthiest owners...so yell at him not the yanks. One thing about the yanks that I'm most proud of is the class of the organization...all this winning and not once has anyone shot their mouth or pulled post game dances like papa smurf.

I don't know about you guys, but I really am pulling for the Cards to finish this up and match up with the Brewers. Three more outs and we may know!
