My wife and I were all set to go, but then in late January we found out that she is pregnant with our first child, and the due date is Oct. 12th. So obviously, there goes that.

Congrats man! I have a two year old son. When your child is born it will be the best day of your life. Raising a child is the best experience a man could have. Also, your life is no pretty much over. Enjoy the ride.

It's lottery time! Who else got their applications in the mail today? I'm putting in for every game but Air Force...

I am planning to attend:

Michigan in Ann Arbor
MSU at home
*crossing my fingers* USC at home
Navy at home
BC at home

This should be pretty easy I work in a place where the doctors are constantly selling tickets. But we'll see how many I get to go to. I know I'll be in Ann Arbor this year. I threatened my cousin with not being in her wedding or even going if she scheduled it 9/10/11, she chose the 3rd so I have to take my hand held TV to the reception!!! haha. IRISH FOOTBALL IS SERIOUS BUSINESS!

PS I know where you can park for free, and it's a 10 minute walk to the stadium!! PM me and I'll tell ya. I hope all the first timers enjoy themselves immensely! I'll be the blonde at the tail gates shooting Jim Beam and yelling WE ARE ND. Just a forewarning! hahaha

Don't feel bad, the first game I saw live was when I was 22 yrs old, and the only reason I did then is because I had taken care of the head ref in the ER, and he gave me his tickets! Otherwise, last season would have been the first time. Like I said it's easier to get tickets now because the dr's want to sell them. I hope you get to go soon! It's an experience you'll never forget!

I've been looking forward to this game for soooooo long, and I was supposed to be there!!!

My wife and I were all set to go, but then in late January we found out that she is pregnant with our first child, and the due date is Oct. 12th. So obviously, there goes that.

But since my wife won't be able to fly, we just bought plane tix this morning for a buddy and I to go to the opener vs. South Florida. It'll be his 2nd time in SB (he was there for my wedding 2 Augusts ago), but his first game. I wanted to go to MSU but that would have been cutting it too close to the birth, so USF it is. Can't wait!
Congrats man, I wa all set to go last season and we had the same thing happen. My daughter was due and born on Dec. 17th, so we had to postpone things a year. I'm starting to plan our trip now and not sure which game to pick USF/Navy/AF. Anyway congrats it's an amazing thing I wish you and your new family all the best.

What is the easiest way to get tickets to the USC game? Get up there early on Saturday and wait in line? If I do so, are tickets 80$?

If we're both undefeated going into this game, you'll be very lucky to find one for under $500.

Thanks man, and thanks to all who replied. We're very excited, and I have to admit, apprehensive as I pray for a healthy baby. Congrats on your daughter...those 3 games aren't the biggies, but I chose USF just because it was the opening game and everyone should be hyped. Air Force would be my next choice if I were you, just because they are always pretty good and you'll get to see Michael Floyd play, which I probably won't. Good luck!

I'm hoping to make the game at Wake Forest, may be my only realistic chance for awhile. If it's on TV, pretty sure I'll be the only one in the crowd dressed in Notre Dame stuff.

GO IRISH!

If you live close to South Bend, you can try your hand at walking around the tailgates and buying them off people trying to sell them, but like someone mentioned above, if both teams are undefeated coming into that game they will be excrutiatingly expensive. Try eBay as soon as possible to see if you can get one at a decent price. Last season, after Tulsa, people were pretty angry around here, and I had asked for 2 tickets to the Utah game, so I could take my son to his first one for his bday. I asked for 2, I ended up with 6! I sold the other 4 to friends, and then it rained and was pretty nasty out that day, but we all know how that game turned out and then people were kicking themselves over it.

When there is a big rivalry game this town is a great time, so it would be fun even if you had to stand outside the stadium! I know it's not the same. Yes, the USC tickets this year are face value at $80. I really really hope I can get to go too.

GO IRISH!

I'll be there at Wake as well!

Also planning to go to a game up in SB. Probably SC! Going to be an intense game, especially if we go in undefeated!

First Off Congrats to NDinLA just think in a year or so you You can instill the first words "Go Irish" I tried with my twins but it came out Mamma . But I did get lucky My Kids have been Irish fans since they have been big enough to say Go Irish. My son and I got the pleasure of seeing the Irsh play last season and he had just turned 21 so we did go to the Linebacker to celebrate it was a blast. I plan on attending one game this season but I am not sure which one yet.

I will be at the game vs. MSU. I have missed only 3 of those games in the last 26 years. Also, I'm planning on being in SB for SC, even if I don't get tix the atmosphere will be electric.

I'm getting tickets for Air Force and BC. I will probably try to go to the opener because it's sort of becoming a tradition for me.

I'm gonna try to get to a UCLA game at teh Rose bowl this year... I have never been to South Bend... but I imagine it being much like a whole campus "wow" version of beautiful Pasadena and the tradition and beauty of the Rose Bowl... it's amazing

Yeah REALLY early. no later than 6AM. If you're an alum, go into the joyce center and wait in line for the alumni exchange program. if not, you can go in there and hope an alum or student will help you out. If not, stand out by the stadium and if youre first in line youll get them. if youre 10th....i highly doubt it for that game. you'll pay face value ($80) plus a handling fee. I think it's like $7, but not 100% sure.

I just bought my plane ticket to go to Chicago with the intention of seeing the USC game. This will be my first trip to South Bend and I am so unbelievably excited. I've seen ND play USC at the Colliseum a few times and I caught the game vs UCLA at the Rose Bowl a few years ago.

Does anyone know a good place to get game tickets for the USC game??? I know the usual online ticket agencies (Stub Hub, Ebay, etc), but am looking for some local knowledge for affordable tickets.

Also, just FYI for anyone living near Los Angeles that is planning on attending the USC game, I just found round trip non stop tickets from LAX to Chicago leaving October 20th and returning October 23rd for $218 on Virgin America. I booked them a few days ago, but I assume the deal is still there. Unbelievable price for round trip tickets!

I plan on going to all the home games plus Michigan and maybe Purdue. As far as tickets go, what I have done in the past when I haven't had a ticket to an event was find the bus trips when they pull up, it seems that someone always missed the bus or they had extra tickets. Even people too drunk to go into the game depending on how long the bus trip was. I used to get into the Army/Navy game every year like that when I was younger. Just an idea, but it has worked for me in the past.

I'll be riding down from the UP to that whore of a city in Michigan- hopefully see ND ruin scUM's 1st ever night game! Riding down with a carload of cousins, all scUM fans so that in itself will be sickening, but I'm praying the ride home will be priceless!
