After the ND and Michigan OV's, ND seemed to gain the momentum. The only reason that momentum seemed to stop was because McGregor had not talked to the ND staff so it was presumed to be Michigan. Come to find out the Same thing has happened with Michigan. So I'm sticking with where the momentum was before and he verbals to us.

I did a quick glance on the MGOBLOG site. It seems to be split 50-50 on where he is going. The best comment, "Why would he want to go to ND? They can't even figure out who they are ACC, Independent, Big 14." I think I just contracted a venereal disease.

“Entitled douche doesn’t really play well at Michigan.”

They’re not so self-aware over there, are they?

They've had so many of those type guys on their team, they now think that is normal behaviour.

Part of Loy's freebie from today.
https://247sports.com/college/notre-dame/Article/Decision-Day-Braiden-McGregor-set-to-announce-commitment-132289836/

Final Prediction: I’m essentially cloudy. In talking to a ton of sources across the country, the belief is that McGregor has truly not told any of the coaches where he’s going. It’s unprecedented. This stuff always leaks out, one way or another, but not this time. Kudos to McGregor for keeping a lid on everything. I’ll talk to one source that believes he’s a lock for Michigan, while another has him choosing between Notre Dame and Florida. People are all over the place on this one because they seem to be guessing or are hopeful on his final landing spot. Everything McGregor has said and done, in my honest opinion, points toward Notre Dame. I know the Fighting Irish absolutely led at one point and the feeling was that he was ready to commit, but held off. If I’m going off my gut feel, I’m leaning toward the Irish. He says his decision will surprise a lot of people and the majority have him ending up at Michigan. He also said he’s not telling anyone ahead of time and everyone will find out Friday night when he announces. We’ll see how it all plays out tonight.

If his announce will surprise everyone, then it has to be ND or UF given most of the writers predictions are scUM.

There have been other announcements where the kid said his selection would surprise everyone, but in the end it surprised nobody.

Is there a link to his announcement? Kind of excited to watch one live where we truly have no idea.

Technically if the CB/FutureCasts have a majority UM and he picks ND that would be a "surprise." That's my optimistic view of this situation.

He lives an hour and a half from Ann Arbor. I would think most people he encounters IRL have expected him to pick UM for a long time.

If he goes into that gym full of UM fans and picks Irish and ends up signing...I nominate him for automatic clearance to Notre Dame Man.

This is all true, most people would assume that if he picks ND, it would be the surprise. But what I'm telling you is that other recruits have told people that there will be a surprise, but then they ended up picking the hometown team that everyone suspected all along. There never was a surprise. They simply used the "surprise" factor to maintain some excitement over the announcement. There may or may not be any surprise in Braiden's announcement tonight.

Might be one of the more telling things I've read all week. If he truly has said he's going with relationships (PRO-ND) and is going to surprise everyone (Michigan is the unsurprising pick), then I think he's headed ND's way. I think the most unsurprising pick for most recruits is in-state U. For McGregor I think the surprise pick is ND and the shocking pick would be UF. I know he's been to UF twice now and he clearly enjoyed those visits, but he's been to ND 5+ times and Michigan 10+ times so the comfort-ability with everything should be higher with the Midwest schools. He's also done a lot of things with his family and sounds and seems very family oriented in a lot of his interviews and things and I'd be surprised if he had two great options close to home for him to head across the country to go to school. Right now I'd guess 47% ND, 45% Michigan, 8% UF.

Almost all kids say their decision will be a "surprise". I can't remember who it was from our 2019 class, but we had him pegged to ND for a while and he said something along the lines of his decision shocking people.

I guess I wouldn't put much stock in him hyping it as a surprise - clearly he's keeping it tight lipped because the mystery is important to him.

We have really good relationships, friendship with other commits, and ND program going for us - I'll take it.

Agreed, but because I doubt he would, I'm sticking with Michigan. :(

Guys please dont take this wrong but what has you guys so hooked on this one? Is it the impressive offer list or the 3 star rating?

Not meaning to be negative but Im reading a lot of wish listing and praying and not seeing where the #17 guy at his position is wish list.

Tim Prister from II has said several times on the podcast that McGregor is a legit 5 Star pass rushing talent.

Think about how much the pass rush made the 2012 and 2018 defenses. ND's defense doesn't NEED McGregor to have a shot of getting back to the Playoff, but you absolutely need to be stacked defensively to win in the Playoff. He'd be the jewel in this defensive class.

If he continues his trajectory into his senior year and those all star games, McGregor will be a 5 star on at least 1 or more of the recruiting sites. He'd be the 1st 5 star since Tyree lol (but seriously since Tommy Kraemer).

He's getting in front of Mitchell Melton's OV to ND on June 7th. Keep em crossed.

I know this has to be sarcasm, but even if the guy was a 2 star and Michigan wanted him but he spurned them for us; I would be elated. Muck Fichigan.

What's pretty interesting about his 247 ranking is they moved him up before he went to the Opening Regional on 3/31. His on field performance was very good but his testing was actually quite poor. 40: 5.06 shuttle: 4.69, vert: 27.90. It seems as though 247 has put a lot of stock in testing numbers over the last couple of cycles. I wonder if they'll keep him here, in-line for a 5th star, or if they'll adjust at some point due to those numbers. I personally don't care it'll just be interesting to follow.

There would be nothing surprising about him picking ND or UM. Only true surprise would be UF.

Those numbers don’t equal the elite category that Prister is saying. He’s usually a big homer but I can’t help but get the Andrew Trumbetti feeling about this one. High 4 star as a junior, drops in the rankings, never really pans out in college as a pass rusher because of athleticism.
