PFF listed him as a top 10 returning OL ... as a sophomore. Big miss.

Would've been nice to land him but ND's incapable of having big misses at OL. They're too loaded. I wanted Skoronski & Monheim from early on but ND's gonna have Baker, Rocco, Correll, Fish, Alt.

yea this one hurts a lot less than the many misses at other positions, specifically the skill spots.

BK, Quinn and whoever else really screwed up here. Guy from ESPN projects him possibly as high as a top 15 pick next year.

Lots of players get first round predictions at certain points in their careers…….see Corey Robinson and Ishaq Williams, not always gospel 😊. Not disputing Skoronski may end up being a first round pick but as we all know, it’s not an exact science.

I can't believe people spend time thinking about this kind of stuff.

Since this guy enrolled at NU, ND has lost four games.
Yet most would say that in itself isn't/hasn't been good enough. And I would imagine passing on future NFL talent isn't how you start to win those 4 games.

Sometimes people just read an article on espn and repost it. I guess OL depth hasn’t been an issue. My bad.

Christ Almighty. You're sitting here telling me that a 6-4 interior lineman is the missing link for Notre Dame having been able to beat Clemson, Alabama, Cincinnati and Oklahoma State?

Yeah, yeah. It's a message board. You posted something and I gave a retort.

So here is a Mock Draft from May 2021. 2022 NFL Mock Draft: Way Too Early Edition

Sam Howell going first to the Texans. The Lions taking JT Daniels second overall. Yes, JT Fucking Daniels. Spencer Rattler 9th. Slovis 24th. These articles are for clicks. There are NFL GMS and scouting departments who haven't a clue who is getting picked where in 51 weeks from now.

Now, this doesn't mean you're not free to post Mock Draft articles on the internet, though there is nothing in the Constitution about the NFL or the internet. I think in the end some healthy perspective is in order, however. Skoronski seems like a good enough player and his presence on the roster would be more than positive. As it stands, the current staff wasn't in place when he was a recruit and his not being at ND is probably not as glaring of an absence as say an NFL caliber QB that could lead them to a Championship and the WR group is probably more of a concern at present.

You get 85 scholarship players. There are going to be guys you don't offer that make it pretty good elsewhere. There are guys you offer and sign elsewhere you will make it pretty good elsewhere. It's perfectly normal. It's a big ocean.

That's right. If only Kelly and Quinn hadn't misevaluated ol Pete, we'd be national champions.

Comment is more about Coach Kelly and Coach Quinn hate than anything. I note that every school not named Northwestern "Really screwed up here." Think of the change in college football we could have seen ....

God Bless young Mr. Skoronski by the way; one of hundreds of fine young men who could have helped out ND football.

Probably not the difference. But it may speak to the challenges that the staff had in evaluating talent correctly, and maybe we missed on some guys that we shouldn't have. Didn't ND see Zeke Elliot as a safety, or something? Maybe Jordan Addison, college footballs new highest paid WR, as a DB? I could absolutely be mistaken, but maybe the issue wasn't o line recruiting, but overall ability to project players properly at the next level, and we missed out on skill players that would have helped beat those teams.

Foskey isn't a tight end today either. Wise decision and there are probably going to be millions of reasons why.

All good points. Look, Jeff Quinn was Kelly's guy, and he was either content at being an analyst while he waited his turn for a job or nobody else was willing to hire him for a full time coaching position. Maybe both. Just be thankful he never got the OC keys.

Player development can always be better in just about every case. I still think they have done a pretty good job compared to most during the Kelly Era. The good news is that the new man in charge is putting a significant emphasis on recruiting compared to his predecessor, Harry Hiestand is back on the OL and of all the position groups THAT one is probably the least of my concerns for the program going forward.
