Listed as a TE by the services, not sure if that is his preference.

I listed him at DE for ND.

Jr Stats:

DE = 11 G ... 82 Tkl ... 15.5 TFL ... 15.5 Sks

TE = 11 G ... 27 rec ... 329 yds ... 3 TD

Nice film on D.

His defensive stats are definitely better than his offensive...

DE target. I’m glad the staff is trusting their judgement on some of these offers. Might not be popular with the fanbase but a lot of these kids can play.

I get having a lot of official visitors is awesome for one weekend, but is there such a thing as too much? Like will there be guys who are unattended by the coaching staff. It seems like the June 21st weekend will be great but don’t you want the position coaches to be spending some one on one time with guys? It might be difficult for Jeff Quinn to spend a ton of quality time with Zinter, Skoronski, and Atteberry unless they are cool with groups of official visitors hanging out with each other. I’m genuinely curious how they work that out because I don’t know how they work those things on official weekends.

Give Atteberry a map to Columbus, Tell Zinter to hurry up and wait and give Skoronski the keys to his dorm room.

Quinn can use the rest of the day calling

it helps that theres not a game so in a way that allows for more time for the staff to devote to the kids and recruiting rather than needing to focus on a game

Making a decision in late June. Looks like ND’s out and no OV in late June.

Yea, it's really Melton or bust at this point. You could add Coleman to that as well but he's more of an ATH.

They are all more talented?

I think it’s more accurate to say that they are comfortable with what they have and don’t need an extra body. But, tomato tomatoe

That had to be what he meant cuz Balki ain't Crazy.

I'm not sure I'd trade any of those 3 for Yurosek, so yeah, I'd say so.

Yurosek is a good receiving TE, but his blocking leaves much to be desired and he's not all that big. He kind of reminds me of Jack Larsen, just further along.

Flanagan, Evans and Raridon are all good receiving TEs, but they're really good in-line blockers on top of that. Especially surprising for Raridon and Flanagan, because both haven't played much, but their blocking has been very impressive. They're also a lot bigger than Yurosek.

Yurosek is about 6'4 240, while Evans is 6'5 260, Raridon is 6'7 250 and Flanagan is 6'6 260.

This isn't really a knock on Yurosek, because if he was willing to play a role to come here, I'd want him. But ND has A LOT of really talented TE's as is. It's why Holden Staes chose to leave, because he knew, despite his talent, he wasn't going to start ahead of Evans and Raridon, and potentially Flanagan. There just isn't a lot of opportunities to get Yurosek involved while also not taking reps away from those 3.

This isn't about trading them. On the surface, I'd tend to agree that all three are arguably as or more talented. But only Evans has produced like Yurosek.

When you look at the position from an injury perspective, you have Evans who tore his acl in late October and likely won't be back to full strength until late fall, if not '25. I'll always be wondering if Raridon will suffer any more knee injuries during his time with the Irish after his two.
And Staes left. You also have Sherwood and Larsen, but if the question comes down to either of them compared to Yuro, there was a roster mgmt mistake.

Fair to question the decision, imo.

Evans is expected to be 100% by fall camp. It isn't a situation like Raridon. Raridon needed more time, because it wasn't his first knee procedure, and the more times you have to have your knee fixed, the longer the recovery is. Evans doesn't have that problem.

I think the issue is that we assume that ND didn't reach out or that Yurosek was even interested. If I'm Yurosek, objectively, why would I want to go to ND and be one of 4-5 TEs being used regularly, when I can go to UGA and be the guy or at the very least the 1a/1b?

It's not always as simple as ND being interested. Yurosek has to want to come here, and there's a very legitimate argument that he wouldn't be interested.

Isn’t this basically why Staes left?
