He is down to 734th nationally now on 247. I believe that should be his final ranking. I think it’s hard to compare the overall rank to years past because obviously one class may be more down or have a bunch of higher level talent. However, a quick look at Jalen Elliott and Devin Studstill shows 247 rated them as 88 and 92, respectively. Hopefully his path is more like Elliott. I see a better player than 734th but maybe not.

247 saw him at one camp and he struggled in coverage, ever since then there has been no real floor in their rating of him. I agree, I think he’s better than that.

I think Mister 734th best recruit is going to pleasantly surprise a lot of people at ND. After finding out more about him, he’s a kid I can’t help but root for big time! Plus, Clemson, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Georgia, Michigan, Syracuse, Penn State, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Tennessee and many other power 5 schools offered him. Not too shabby!

His offer list is pretty good considering he is apparently ranked as the worst HS football player ever.

Seriously. Rankings-wise he might as well be the kid from Germany. Offers-wise he’s like a top 250 recruit. I’ll trust the coaches (ours and Clemson’s, Georgia’s, Michigan’s, etc) over the camp jockeys on this one.

Rivals has him at 150. but Mike Farrell blows

Embrace the hate. When he turns out to be a pretty good FB player you can flaunt that to these rankings sites.

When I watched his film, the thing I liked was his hitting and tackling.

I was never impressed with his size or his athleticism. He was always a 3-star IMO, I was puzzled he started out highly rated initially.

Are those schools that offered still recruiting him though?

I just watched his film for the first time. I'd give him a 3 star rating. I dont see a tangy athlete that can cover the field, I see a hard hitter but average speed for D1. Not great size either.

Based on their film, I would have personally graded Studstill higher if they were in same year. I dont think he's a non factor, and I think he'll play at ND, but he's definitely not a can't miss IMO.

God I'm right on the money and ahead of the game again. How do I do it.

Gee, I can’t think of a low ranked safety who works his ass off and has wayyyyyyy overplayed his ranking.

Well, I guess there’s Alohi Gilman, highest rated PFF safety this year in all the land.

Give me a kid with a bomb ass work ethic any day of the week. Nowhere to go but up. And if you don’t think for a second that he will be on the NBC senior day broadcast explaining his life at a refugee camp in Ghana to where he is today, then you’re sorely mistaken.

Kid will work incredibly hard and will be extremely thankful for everything he’s got. Those types of kids typically don’t turn into duds.

Let’s go Litch. Rooting hard for this young man.

And to echo other posters, trust these coaches. And UGAs. And Clemson’s. A kid who came from his circumstances doesn’t have the dough to be flying around wearing no sleeve workout shirts with numbers in the 700s on them.

I can guarantee there aren’t 700+ high school seniors that are better than him at football. I threw rankings in the trash, where they belong, a long time ago.

Weren’t you the one that admitted that you aren’t a film expert? So if you think he’s average, based off your evaluation, then he’ll probably be a 2x All-American at Notre Dame.

247 slept on basically every Notre Dame player on defense that led Notre Dame to the playoffs: Okwara, Love, Gilman, Tranquill. I guess we should just go after anyone that 247 has underrated.

This is so dumb that this drum keeps beating.

I said that out of humility to preface for an opinion. No one on here is a film expert, but I once said "I'm no film expert, but I don't think we should offer this guy".

And now everyone on here who's equally as qualified/unqualified as me and everyone else, uses it against me. And it makes zero sense.

It's like if we all went into a pie shop, and I said well I'm no pie expert but that strawberry rhubarb looks good, and people pretend that they all of a sudden must know better than me, lol.

Want the honest truth? I feel good about my ability to notice talent. But I'm also not paid for it. I also don't think you need to study years of film to see talent. Talent is apparent.

I don't need to hear Carry Underwood sing 100 songs, or study generations of singers to realize there's something special there.

Ok, thank you for getting it. Sorry for the rant - but that's been used against me ~20 times on here, and people actually thought that comment somehow gave them a leg up.

I love you for getting it.

Watching film cannot compare to watching in person. Film and watching on TV does not translate the speed and physicality of the game.

Weren't you the one thinking we would lose by double digits at home to Meat chicken this year?

I thought we would lose, not by double digits. You can check the prediction thread.

And what does that have to do with looking at one player's film?

Koon your tweet last night was "I've never seen Serge Ibaka hit a jumper but he keeps chucking it" Serg is one of the best shooting big men in the league and has a beautiful mid range game. So once again you just make shit up without being right. Man shoots 36% from three in his career. Not bad for a guy who entered the league and couldn't hit a jump shot. So i don't even know what you are talking about with Avjaon hear but I doubt it's right on the money.

Serbe Ibaka is a poor shooter. He's actually not terrible, he just takes way more than his skill level should allow him. He should take 1-2 a game. Instead he chucks.

Watch him in the playoffs when teams are actually trying, it's brick after brick. You defending Ibaka as a jump shooter is the first time in all of your posts where I truly believe you don't know sports. You're better than that.

You thought Shea Patterson was a god.

Shea Patterson is a good QB. He's good enough to beat us this year.

What are you trying to do here? You're way off topic and stretching to compare apples to Brazilian nuts.

Is this a good use of your time?

Im saying that your judgement and evaluation of players is not some god like gift. All one has to do is search and can see you're wrong just as much as you're right. You came into this thread patting yourself on the back like you are an expert film analyst.

Koon, Serge Ibaka is a great player and a great shooter when he is utlizing his skill set properly. I do know sports, I know you know that. I know you know about the NBA but you making this post is just silly.

If you think he's a great player let's go our separate ways on all things NBA. He's a solid regular season role player.
