it may be from notre dame candidly telling him that the
scholarship chart numbers are very tight right now?.....visit
by all means....yet we are not sure as of today
because dl(trace or foskey; cb(rutherford or max williams)...maybe even 5th ol...or kicker?
are priorities in front of 3rd wr ?

although this particular 3rd wr seems to have the
goods to be a take right now or any time...

I get why he would want a great education (I wish all kids did), but Northwestern? Lol

You can get an education that is just as good at some schools with MUCH better football.

8/10 years they’ve been to a bowl game. They have a good, young head coach. Maybe Stanford, Vanderbilt, Duke, Cal and Notre Dame have comparable academics to Northwestern in Power 5 football. They are about to have the nicest facilities out of those schools by a country mile (seriously, look up their new facilities, they are beautiful). I think if ND wants him then they should be able to beat Northwestern for him but I can understand why he would like Northwestern.

ND's new indoor practice facility will be better than Northwestern's... it's just not on the shore of Lake Michigan. Ryan Field is a lower tier, 40-something thousand seat antique that doesn't have the panache of ND Stadium or even Harvard or Yale's stadiums for that matter.

Even though all are in the Top 20, there is a big difference between Stanford and Cal for the typical undergrad. For the typical football player it's the difference between Harvard and East Mississippi CC.

Plus his parents could probably fly from Houston to Chicago much cheaper than elsewhere.

Or they could drive 3 hrs to Waco for $20.

Going to NW with Hunter S Johnson coming in might not be so bad for a WR... or it could turn into Fear & Loathing in Evanston.

Nobody wants to go to Waco though. Plus who wants to be taught by Baptists?

what's not to like as a wr considering n.d.?

what's not to like as a wr considering n.d.?

2 more yrs of ian book
4 more yrs of phil j.

the nd wr's under this offensive learn and play all facets of the game
including blocking for each other and downfield

boykin/claypool/ finke are a very good unit--underrated
they are a pleasure to watch

genson could see himself as an nd wr especially after tonite

Still trying to figure this out. Loy and Sinclair CB to NW. This makes no sense to me. Gotta wonder if ND told him no thanks.

From what I've read, it's a combination of the fact that NW was on this recruitment very early and have stayed on him, and Notre Dame staff not being 100% sold on him.

I guess the staff is getting real picky at this time of year. It’s weird because the II Podcast, BGI Podcast, and ISD Podcast all mentioned how talented he was and how much of a high academic kid he was (Northwestern, Notre Dame, Princeton offers) and then comes on a visit and the staff isn’t exactly sold on him. Real weird. Wonder if it’s just that Northwestern’s staff has outrecruited our staff for the kid. I hope they stay on Cornelius Johnson then. I think Vimahi and Johnson are the last hope of another offensive athlete!

It’s really not weird. We have very limited spots left in this class and the staff is probably unsure of where use those limited scholarships. So the staff is bringing in kids on free trips and continuing to recruit them. While probably being very honest in that they don’t know where or if there are any spots available for the specific prospect. It’s just incredibly smart recruiting, nothing weird about it. This is what they should’ve been doing from the beginning of Kelly’s tenure.
