That’s good news that it’s just the meniscus. That’s easier to bounce back from

This might be a stupid question but does the meniscus need to be repaired? Why not just remove it?

My wife had surgery for a meniscus tear. The part of the meniscus she tore had no blood supply to it. The Dr. said in that case, they cut off the torn portion. If there is blood supply, they try to do a complete repair and sew it together. The complete repair is best long-term for the knee health, but carries a long recovery. The snip leaves a permanent loss of meniscus tissue but requires a much shorter recovery (4-8 weeks). His injury must have required the complete repair. Better long-term for his career.

Likely larger meniscus tear with a repair vs a small tear or meniscectomy (removal) which could be 12-16 weeks vs 2-4 weeks like Ademilola.

Injury on 8/11. Surgery 8/13. Thanksgiving, day before UNC game, is 15 weeks. ACC-C is 18 weeks.

DE depth looks solid and if anything Foskey could get some more burn. If we’re shooting for the stars against Clemson, Ohio St, Bama in major bowls/playoffs. Hope he can contribute next year.

With a two deep of Ademilola, Foskey, Oghoufo, Botelho and Ehrensberger plus freshman rounding out the depth, a productive Junior who was a top 15ish DE in his class would help.

That play was crucial in my opinion, and gave me a ton of confidence about the defense. BVG's defense would get burned virtually every game on same gadget play. So the fact that this defense is seen as an attacking, aggressive defense, I'm hopeful that they have the discipline and IQ (2 things that coaching develops) that were missing when BVG was around.

He's a guy that knows his role. He came into ND with a little bit of hype, that never has fully materialized into a true pass rusher, but if he can play the role of an edge setter with the occasional pass rush flash, he'll continue to be an important player for this defense.

A lot happened on Saturday night, but I feel we should all take notice of NaNa's play vs. Stanford and how the coaching staff views him. He came off the ACL injury well last season, playing over 200 snaps, and he's played well at the Big End rotation this year too.

Also, to note, he has two years of eligibility remaining. In 2019, he only played in a single game as a true freshman, then his injury and COVID happened in 2020. If the plan is to play Mills more inside, the Big End position could be covered for the next 2.5 years.

Is it just me or does Nana sound like Daelin Hayes in this interview? I love the vocal leadership here, our best defenses have had some great leaders on the DLine. I’m hopeful that Nana can help lead the group in that sense, similar to Kapron Lewis Moore, Khalid Kareem, MTA, etc.

Nana’s recruitment down in Texas is how I first came across EJ Holland when he worked for Texas 247.
Imagine a younger, even more douchey version of himself.
He was like 21 & tried talking about football like he had 50 years of experience.
ND was Texas’ biggest competitor for Nana so EJ went after ND daily, just making shit up.
Talking about how nobody was alive when ND was last relevant and how Texas kids hated ND, etc…
When Nana chose ND, it was of course because Texas didn’t want him according to EJ.
When it was announced he was switching to Rivals BGI to cover ND I warned everyone.
I even pulled up his posts trashing ND & questioned him on it publicly. I was told to stop by BGI.
Of course, after like 9 months he bolts for the Michigan site & immediately starts bashing ND, the school, the campus, the fans, the ND site, the ND recruits, etc…
Driskell called him out for it, but then left BGI.
Singer takes it up the ass from EJ & allows him to do whatever he wants without retort.
When things got bad between the two sites, that EJ started, Singer took EJ’s side against his own ND subscribers. And actually called the ND subscribers whiny babies & boomers.
EJ is literally allowed to start threads calling ND fans weirdos & Singer agrees with him.

I always wondered why their podcast together always sounded awkward

There is one podcast, when EJ, Singer & Driskell were all on it together, & it is so awkward.
It was EJ & Singer’s recruiting podcast on BGI & they had Driskell on to breakdown recruits’ film.
Right off the bat EJ calls Driskell “grandpa” and it’s all downhill from there.
Driskell was noticeably annoyed & increasingly pissed as they went on.
That’s when EJ came up with his ridiculous list of age, calling anyone 30 “old.”
The entire podcast was just cringe.

Nana has been a quiet favorite of mine for a while. Here's a guy that was rated a 4 star with offers from all the big dogs and came to ND. In the same class as Foskey, who ascended to the ND record books. Has waited out his time despite players like MTA and Mills being moved over to his position and guys covering the team calling for Ehrensberger to play over him because he "has a higher ceiling". Then when it finally looks like he'll be the guy, we go get JJB( which I loved) and Nana still stays the course and becomes even more enveloped in the team as a leader. He embraces all aspects of ND beyond football and I appreciate him for it. He's a guy I think is going to have a good season and I am looking forward to seeing him on the field this year.

I would be interesting in listening to this podcast. Do you know where I could find a link for it? If it was years ago, the chances likely are pretty slim

It would have been in 2019 I believe.
Driskell left BGI mid-season and that was the year EJ was full time & Singer part time.
It was preseason since they were talking recruiting.
That was on BGI when Stu Coman owned it, so not sure if BGI/On3 owns it, Rivals owns it or Coman owns it? Because Coman sold the website side to On3.
But if you are able to find a list of the old BGI podcasts, you should find it easily because there were only a few with EJ/Singer & only one with Driskell with them, & it was preseason 2019.

A podcast with EJ, Singer, and Driskell sounds like the most insufferable podcast of all time. I'd rather drag my balls over barbed wire.
