Per Texas reports they are making a huge push here, coming off of his visit this last weekend. That shouldn't surprise people, as they have a lot that they are throwing at kids these days. We still get him on campus with a great group of prospects, so let's see how that goes.

My guess is he announces a top 2 or 5 and/or changes commitment date to sooner than May. Not too sure.

Even if Texas lands Nana and Watson I'm looking at Texas schedule next year and I'm counting at least 5-6 losses, if we have a great year then I think will real in some big fish.

It is so hard to beat Home State U for a recruit when Home State U is a major program that really wants him.

Lots of smoke people. And he's visiting them twice and us once at crunch time. Brace yourselves.

It's past that. It sounds like he's been public with his love of UT locally and it leaked on to Twitter/IG. Wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't show up on Friday.

I personally never saw the guaranteed WDE sackmaster others are projecting. I see him as a Daelin Hayes type, a physical specimen who plays somewhere in between a Drop and an End. And from the photos I've seen over the last 18 months, this kid's on his way to 270-280.... Dude's got thighs & azz for days. Now don't get me wrong, I want him to somehow end up at ND because he's a physical beast who would have a high floor at one DE spot or the other and he's a good demographic fit but it is not the end of the world on this single recruitment. What IS getting closer to the end of the world is the yearly lean/lead/loss of an All American DE. Was hoping NOM was the guy who'd break the cycle. To add to that, there's smoke about J Anderson's books...

There is so much talent out there that's still under recruited but no one wants to hear about them because they are UR - 3* prospects... at this early stage. No one is overly excited about 3.75* Colt Ellison but he has better pass rushing technique and production playing against a better schedule than NaNA.

The world will go on but this will send ND MB's down the Robert Beal rabbit hole for a long time.

I don't share Koon's optimism which is usually the opposite. I have a sad.

If so, Definitely a big miss, on a program fit and high quality prospect. However, I refuse to get too hung up on this in April. There is going to be A LOT of change in the next 6-8 months that it’s not worth it to get too anxious at this point.

At one point last cycle we were freaking out about DB recruiting. Griffith was “off the board”, Noah Boykin and DJ Brown didn’t exist, and folks couldn’t get past the Gervin decommitment. Long long way to go. Get Ellison and move the attention elsewhere. Still have a chance for some quality DE’s in this class.

Elston must have known since he offered recent DEs

I kinda thought this at first but it may also have to do with them expanding the DE board to 4. Seen multiple mentions of this in the past couple of weeks around the web. Before, 3 seemed to be the cap and that included J. Anderson at SDE.

Miamen is a good offer because he has positional flexibility on both sides of the the ball.

They had to bring Cam Mattox in because his film is what a WDE is supposed to look like. I'm sure they have to go over his transcript with a fine tooth comb before anything else can happen. He's going big P5 somewhere.

Yea, I think this had more to do with Berhorst than Nana, IMO. When taking 4 DE's in one class, it makes sense that they are targeting guys that could play multiple positions or sides of the ball. As that will give us more flexibility in the 20' class.

Amen brother. Getting fully invested too early is not good for my blood pressure. I've only recently learned this lesson. The Braden Lenzy recruitment really made me come to terms with the "great unknown" that is college football recruiting.

I wish I had the fortitude to ignore these pages until at least early December. I am weak. Cheers and Go Irish!

Hopefully they make the right decision on where to put them. In another dimension, Chase Claypool is probably an All American OLB/DE but it's probably at Stanford on the outside of a 3-4.

Tremble's another guy who programs looked at on both sides of the ball. Michigan it seemed like him more as a DE.

Is there word out now that ND backed out or are you using taken in place of landed?

No there isn’t. ND recruited him like the top priority target at his position. We just might come up short. Not much else can be done. He lives in Texas, and a majority of the people around him want him at Texas. Can’t really fault the staff for that.
