I imagine he'll get used in an almost identical fashion as he was this year

For the record, players don’t get to just say they are coming back. They are offered just like a recruit. Kiser was recruited back…heavily….just like Cross, just like Mills, etc

Did Cross have nowhere else to go? Mills? Watts?

Kiser, if healthy, will be the Will and will have 100+ tackles. For second straight year his tackles per snaps played was best on team as was his missed tackles

This may shock a lot of people, but some guys really love playing at ND and they want to get a grad degree too.

X is one of them, but he could have been a 3rd round pick. I don't know if Kiser or Cross want to get a grad degree, but they certainly want more tape and to "prove it". Both of them may have got drafted, but one more big huge year will mean SO much.

I love these guys.

Kiser will not do well in the middle at all, he can't get off blocks, he gets swallowed up and pushed back. I get everyone's excited because someone's back but he had no where to go.

Done. Grabbed a screenshot, added calendar event, see you in 12 months.

He will be a integral part of the success of this defense in 2024.

Kiser is likely going to go the Tranquill route, where Drue was a Rover in '17 and then moved over to Will in '18 alongside Coney.

I think we'll be seeing Kiser at Will and Bowen at Mike, with Sneed and/or Ausberry in special packages and Rover, when we're not in nickel.

You are wrong again. I think you may be thinking of JD who can diagnose plays rapidly but is limited physically, he is small. JD is the LB who would get swallowed up by blocks if he was not fast enough diagnosing the play and the linemen was able to get a hand on him.

And you are wrong if you don’t think Kiser will play better and have more tackles at WILL in 2024 than Marist did in all his years combined.

My bad. Of course he does.

He has a real shot at moving up the draft board with one more go. C on his chest and all that.

I wish Marist would be here too.

(and Fisher for that matter, not quite the same reasons but close)

Getting a grad degree isn’t all it is cracked up to be.
It means you then get a good job you have to work hard in to pay the mortgages you have. It’s the route to the rat race.
Play in the NFL does not sound like work at all.

I'm speaking from person experience, both mine and professionally. I've been a CPA since 1990. The top guy in my accounting class went on to play professional hockey for a few years before getting an MBA at Harvard.

Accounting is just one of those things that connects for some. Either you get it or it's greek. If your brain is wired that way, it just kind of works. I've not meet a lot of people who "kind of" get accounting. Not saying he's not smart....just saying it's how he's wired.

Now tax accounting....that's a whole different animal.

Agree. Accounting is organized common sense, but you have to get it early. I'm not a CPA but deal with enough of it and took some in grad school.

US taxes are the opposite. They're meant to be impossible to understand in case they ever want to target you. Just MO.

Becoming an accountant, usually means it "clicked" in your brain.

Getting a masters and finishing first in your class while being a football player at a blue blood program means at minimum, he's incredibly smart and hard working. There is no other way to cut it.

Incredibly happy he's coming back for another year.

While I agree, almost every other linebacker on that list I'd a high level NFL prospect, so there is some merit to it.

It's the a wirthless metric outside of measuring OL play. It's not even worth being a thing.
