Horrendous watching him play.

The 2022 LB group can't get here soon enough.

Really? I guess I either watched a different game or I know nothing about football. I didn't think he played bad on Saturday. In fact thought he played the best out of all the Linebackers. Now he did give up one or two long receptions, but you can't point the finger solely on him for those long pass plays. He was one on one with a slot WR or a RB. No matter who the linebacker is, excluding 2015 Jaylon Smith, 9 out of 10 times the linebacker will get burned.

Agree with Sherm. The mantra here is our linebackers all suck but Kiser has been solid. Most of those missed tackles in space you've been seeing are #27, not #24. He's not as good as a DB in coverage, which is why Pryor got around 40% of the snaps.

Our LBs across the board are slightly below average. They aren't disruptive or make any plays other than routine plays that fall into their lap. It's not just about "did you miss a tackle when a guy ran into you", it's about making plays that aren't there, and none of our LBs do that. Bo Bauer might be the most disruptive one and he doesn't even start.

If Foskey leaves there's no one in our front 7 who an offense would have to game plan around (unless Luafau is all he's cracked up to be). Kind of scary for 2023.

So I'll go back to Kiser. So the two pick 6's Kiser had this season were just routine plays that fell into his lap. Those two INT's for touchdowns was just Kiser being in the right place at the right time correct?

Graduated from ND with 3 years left to play. (He did RS in '19... right?)

These graduation day pics should all over our recruiting material.
Graduating from the University of Notre Dame will mean more to more of these kids over their lifetime than anything that starts with N and ends with L.

Sampson was really pumping Kiser up in his list of players to watch this fall.

Breakouts from Kiser and Mills (along with a healthy year from Liufau) would make for a tremendous front seven.

I'm excited for the Ademilolas, Lacey, and Cross as well. Can't imagine being a running back against this crew.

yeah some talk that Kiser should play MLB with Marist at WLB so Kiser basically never comes off the field

If our Nickel defense is Kiser and Marist at LB, I'm not complaining at all. I feel like you can't have Bertrand out there in Nickel and Kiser edges Bauer in coverage.

Is this nickel your are talking about? I like Kiser where he is because I think we have 3 really good MLB options in Bertrand, Bauer and Tuihalamaka. Bertrand could be even better this year playing within his skillset MLB vs OLB. Bauer is just pure energy and enthusiasm and Niuafe is the most pleasant surprise of the LB haul. He might earn early minutes. He was one of the 3 workout warriors posted online yesterday (along with Mills and Henderson, one at each level).

But in nickel, I could see where Kiser in the middle would be a really good move because he can still cover fast guys if they move across his area of responsibility.

Think you are onto something here.

Believe the WW pic you saw was actually Patterson, Kiser, and Henderson

I just saw a 2024 mock draft with Jack going in the first round at number 31 with the comment "he tends to make splash plays". Maybe he has been mistooked for Morrisson.

I do not dispute that Irish fans don’t properly appreciate Kiser but that’s a bit too rich for my take.

I could see mistaking him for Bertrand but…
