A Wimbush / Jurkovec type of dual threat QB. Passed for 3000+ yds and 27 TD's and rushed for 950 yds and 18 TD's.

Has the most P5 offers of any QB in the Midwest.

Runs an 11.2 100m.

His stats from the Opening-Chicago:

6-1, 177 lbs

4.76 / 40

4.33 / Shtl

35.5 PB

33.5 Vert

Score = 87.57

His 40 & Shuttle times already on par with Jack Sears who had one of the best QB Sparq scores ever. Doesn't have the core strength of Sears at this time nor the vert.

Film says he's one to watch, needs to get stronger and hopefully grow an a few inches.

Ha. What's the point of measuring a QB's vert. Probably the second most worthless measurement next to the 40 time of offensive linemen.

As it pertains to jumping and high pointing a ball, yes QB's don't need that skill set but like the broad jump, it does measure explosion as a general athletic ability depending on how the test is administered.

I was just about to write this. Vertical is a good indicator of explosive power, ie - the ability to quickly take off, etc. It's important for a dual-threat QB. Usually you'll see a strong correlation between vertical jump and 40 time. It's rare someone is slow but can get up > 35+. There's often a correlation between vert and shuttle as well. If you ever find someone whose shuttle is under 4.05/4.10 but their vert is below 35, let me know because they're a unicorn.

Curse you Wiltfong! He unleashed the Duggan Dagger on Crusader.

That's all right, I still have Bachmeier and Shrader. That is if ND doesn't give the golden ticket away to one of these 6-0 165 pounders the keep rolling through the Bend.

Jamie at ISD has him in the Top 2 with Gunnell. Gotta respect that.

Also... suffered the same ankle injury as Malik. Broken fibula but also some ligament damage in the ankle/foot. Happened in the last game of the season in Nov. Missed the basketball season. I haven't seen anything about how that turned out.

He is an inch taller (according to 24/7) and has a slightly better 40 time than McNamara. Any estimates of comparative throwing ability?

I'm admittedly not a pro at scouting hs film, but personally, I don't like him. I feel like if he were playing against a defense from California, Texas, or Florida, half of his highlight throws would be interceptions. It didn't seem like he has great arm strength while also not being very accurate or good a making reads. He also looks like he is always the best athlete on the field even though he would be far from it on a college field, so he doesn't look like his running ability would translate. Honestly, I would be pretty disappointed if he is the only QB we get to replace Cade.

SouthSide took one look at Duggan's Twitter page, saw Ewin Wodgers on his header and downgraded him to a 2 star on the spot.

Film looked fine. Comp sucks but that's not on him. I'd be perfectly happy with him after getting PJ in 2018.

My hometown and high school. He's very good. Probably the best QB prospect from Iowa in 20 years. With all that being said I would say the chance is slim to none he comes to Notre Dame.

I also see the fact he plays lower competition as a benefit sometimes. He likely has not reached his ceiling. The state itself has lower quality everything including S&C, and coaching. Granted he has received some extra tutelage as his father is his coach.

Why do you say that?

He's basically the first fling after the divorce. They could have invited someone else... He could have said no.

Sure. A kid from Council Bluffs isn't saying no to an invite from anywhere. I could count on 1 hand the number of football players offered D1 scholarships from this town out of high school. Jake Waters is probably the most successful football player from the town and he had to take the JUCO route. If you get an invite from ND you accept it without question. Make no mistake he will have very strong in state pressure to go to Iowa, and almost equal pressure to choose Nebraska. Due to the proximity of the town it's about 50/50 Nebraska to Iowa. Add in the Scott Frost effect and it gets harder. I just don't see it happening. Crazier things have happened though.

Oh, I thought you'd heard that he doesn't like ND or he's one of those pesky Protestant Duggans from Northern Ireland.

And there's plenty of good players in your area. 247's #71 player in the country is just 15 minutes down the interstate.

Do you know who he cheers/cheered for growing up? Any background on his personality? His parents?

I can't see him going to Iowa, just because.... Nebraska has had a couple decent recruiting years under their belt so I can see them improving.... When it comes to in-state appeal, anything goes depending on the kid. Some kids want to the home town hero, some want to escape, some just want to be boss and go to the best program available.
