I can't win either way. I want Washington to get killed bc of their ignorant fan base but I really want Urban Liar to go down in flames his last game.

Love that OSU is trouncing Washington rn. All the guys in HH talking shit about our game thinking that they’d take OSU and make it a game. Hope OSU kills them and then proceeds to fall off the cliff post Urban

Washington is actually fighting back and making it a game though. Ohio State is just as talented as Clemson.
Even more.

But Washington didn't give up. Their coach never looked defeated. They didn't completely unravel. I'm watching yet another team claw their way back. Pride. Heart. Toughness

That's what makes Saturday even more sad. I know it's not a popular opinion, but you just can't excuse what happened on Saturday. Especially with all the questions of 2012 and if this team was different and if they even belonged. I know life goes on and maybe I'm beating a dead horse but that just cannot happen.

Definitely beating a dead horse. Let it go and enjoy the season we had. 12-0 does not happen often. And btw, OSU is not even with Clemson. Hell, they got manhandled by Purdue and barely beat Maryland.

How far is Washington from where the kid lives? I feel like the longer this drags out the more likely he is to stay closer to home

isn't half the Polynesian Bowl UW commits? I think a few other recruits are sched to commit to UW during the game as well

Yeah, there's 9 UW commits on the rosters already. But Turner will be able to hangout with Liafau, Clark & Rutherford if he goes Irish.

Poly Bowl is tomorrow. Asa is finally listed on Team Makai. Saw an article 3 or 4 days ago saying he was no closer to making a decision. Will he make an announcement at the game?

Tomorrow at midnight (Easter) on CBS Sports.

Nope, but before signing day. Wanna say it's from a 247 article. He's been connected at the hip with Marist and they are playing safety together.

Yup. Hoping it's sooner than later, but NSD is only 2.5 weeks away. Not that he has to decide even by then, but I have to guess he won't go past NSD. Regardless of his direction, I think the P Bowl will help clarify things a bit. Hoping Marist helps tip the scales, but even Marist might not be at ND day one to start summer practice. Hopefully he gets quality time with Rutherford and Clark as well.

How on earth do we have the #s for 1 or 2 more?

It’s better than the alternative. It almost always works out. There will be more transfers. Hopefully, there won’t be any suspensions between now & next season but ND is overdue for some unexpected idiocy.

I am not a fan of it. Most board of this board bashes other teams for doing this but because this will be one of the few years that we have a full roster its ok.

Seriously, we already went over this in another thread. Both Marist and JD were told ahead of time that there may not be a scholarship this year. There was no promise of a scholarship and then at the last minute that promise revoked. Both accepted what ND had to say and still committed because ND is where they want to be regardless. Completely different scenario.

I think the kid wants ND but is finding it hard to tell UW no given he had gave his commitment before. While he doesn’t have to commit on NSD I think NSD will be the day.

He’s been pretty open that it’s really coming down to the position he’ll play. If he wants S it’ll be UW and if he wants LB it’ll be ND.

Showing up at 190-195 lbs. per his weight at the AA game, probably didn’t help the LB talk.

I’m getting to the point where I think we should take Foskey and call it a day. And that’s coming from someone that really likes the player.

Agree with all but the bolded. I just don't think his weight at this point is a big factor. I think his height is the biggest factor. As lean as he is, I'm sure any doctor, nutritionist, or S&C coach would tell him he's likely to put on 15 lbs without trying hard in the next year being as lean as he is. And, he could even get taller. If he is really 6-3, he be tied for the 4th tallest safety in the NFL....

Well, he’s on record saying he did not like playing the Buck/Will LB position they had him at during AA week.

I don’t think it’s going out on a limb to say that it probably has to do with the physicality of the position. At 190-195, that puts him 27-32 lbs under what Shayne Simon showed up on campus weighing. He weighs less than our FS signee. It certainly surprised people.

And, it doesn’t have anything to do with what is possible, it has to do with what he wants to do. That’s the point

If he doesn't want to bulk up to play Rover, then IMO he should be a hard pass. He would never play at safety for ND. He has the frame and athleticism to be a good hybrid player if he adds weight... but if he doesn't want to do that, then he's not a fit and we're already at our scholarship limit.

Like in a hypothetical scenario between having Marist enroll in spring +
turner or enroll in fall + no Turner I lean towards the latter if Turner is wishy washy on playing LB.

I agree 100% it's about what he wants to do. I don't agree though that him showing up at 195 to the AA has anything to do with things. At this point, I personally think he goes UW. IMO his commitment, the pressure, and the relationships he has with UW coaches and other commits will win out. Unless the ND guys at the Poly bowl have a huge impact, I just don't feel ND right now.

Simon may have showed up heavier, but was listed as 215 (20lbs heavier) on his recruiting profile assuming the measurements were likely taken at the same point in their HS SR year. And Turner could easily show up 10-15 heavier by summer time. Again, I don't think the weight is a "thing". Like you said, it's about what he wants. If he does go UW, I hope he doesn't grow anymore lol...
