The link didn't help his case. It confirmed what you said in response to Lberry's, "Caleb Williams signed a $2.6M NIL that is public," claim.

Williams has no $2.6M NIL deal that is public. That number is On3's valuation number. It's not an actual verifiable number. LBerry is either confused about how On3 comes up with their NIL valuation or he falsely believes the number is more accurate once a player is established. It isn't. In the link provided, there is yet another link to the Neutrogena deal Williams signed. The article states the terms of that deal aren't public. The article goes on to say that the $2.6M number is On3's valuation which is based on "performance, influence and exposure." It then says, point blank, that their NIL valuation is NOT a tracker of NIL deals. Instead, it tries to show the optimized NIL opportunities a player could have into the future. It's their version of an educated guess.

But it is a guess based on optimizing and future casting. That's it.
Well said Bump.

I very much doubt any of the giveaways are costing Sam anything lol, its just a PR stunt

Yep. It's an ad. He literally said "protect this house" at the end of his under armour giveaway speech lol. Guarantee that was in the contract. I like it a lot, make sure those high schoolers see what brands you can partner with being a QB at ND.

Agree with you. That said, if Sam was buying them OOP, that'd be the most convincing evidence we've seen that Sam was made a millionaire via ND NIL.

It doesn’t cost him a dime( I didn’t say it did) but it’s still a great gesture to include his teammates. I don’t care about what kind of stunt it is, everyone got shoes and headphones they didn’t have last week. And that was my point.

Somewhat off topic, but also on. I’ve always contended that one of the problems with NIL in the locker room will be a few players making a lot, and most making little.

So here’s day two of the new hired gun standing in front of the team sharing the love. Sounds great

But you’ve got to wonder if that eats at the players a little. Human nature would point towards yes. I know they all have equal opportunity to make whatever but we know that’s also not how the world works.

I know he was voted captain and seems like a great leader but you have to wonder…

I'm surprised Caleb hasn't gotten a NIL deal with Dr. Scholls. /noitalics

There was a pic of Lincoln Riley in a giant foot costume somewhere...

Williams probably dreams of being coached by Rex Ryan.

The issue in the locker room won't be the top players making a ton of money, it will be the top RECRUITED players making a ton of money that aren't performing or putting the work in at their college. See A&M.

If a player on the team is upset that Hartman is getting paid they should be in a padded room.

My buddy was coaching at Oregon recently and said they had all kinds of issues like this, especially when currently players saw the alleged money new recruits were being offered.

And I know Hartman isn’t a new recruit, but he’s new tot he team, which would have a similar effect is my guess.

I think you're guessing wrong. Sam is a 6 year vet, now a 4 time captain, with a track record all the guys know about.

The new recruits at places like Oregon and AandM haven't proved a damn thing and are making grips of cash while other upperclassmen who have paid their dues aren't getting dip.

Completely different situations.

Again. No one is acting naive here. We’re happy for Sam and the team, because it’s cool to see happen. You’re the one saying fans are acting naive in order to put your mediocre opinion in a better light. So let me spare the passive aggressiveness, your posts suck.

It will be worse elsewhere (like Texas A&M) but yeah it’s got to be a thing to some extent.

That’s a fair point. He obviously has a track record but has become the poster boy for ND this year in short order.

But, if he balls out it’s a moot point.

I'm interested in seeing what Freeman does if we have a big lead in the 3rd quarter to you give Angeli or Minchey some reps? You gotta get Angeli or Minchey ready for next year unless you plan on brining in another transfer

I think there may be some incentive to pad stats to make Hartman a Heisman front runner. First four games can really set the tone there - nobody whines about Bama QBs running it up on Sisters of the Poor so anyone saying Middle Tennessee yards don't count can pound sand. I am optimistic this is the year we see a blood thirsty offense take no prisoners.

If our defense can avoid allowing a bunch of 10 play drives by Navy to kill the clock we can more comfortably aer it out, IMO.

I agree but I don’t know if Freeman is running up the score on a HBCU. Navy is often a threat to be in it until the bitter end, even against the best teams like we’ve seen with Ohio State and others.

Freeman was quick to praise Navy as the first game being a big scheduling advantage. Who fucking cares if they are HBCU - it's a D2 glorified scrimmage. We will still have plenty to iron out and this is the type of game you build some big play swagger. Coming off of Navy is always a potential let down game with added jet lag. More importantly we get a scrimmage to get our groove back to hopefully avoid a noon turd against NCST. I am banking on grandpa Hartman having the experience to have the offense on point in all the above and avoid the bad turnovers that typically showcase bad upset bids.

Over/under on season passing yards for Hartman on PrizePicks is 2900.5 - been pairing that with promos to stack up a nice payout. That is only 241 yards per game.

I put the ND Virginia night game from a couple years ago on in the background tonight. Funnily enough they kept showing updates from Wake Forest at NC State where Hartman was absolutely dropping dimes.
