I didn't remember Dowell being a RB in his film but 247 listed him as such so I thought maybe they're using him there also this season(?) I don't even remember him at wR in his film, just at DB. Not disagreeing with you, just saying all I remember him as is safety.
I know ND has shown him some interest so he made the list because of their interest and 247's listing as a RB. IF he somehow passed up MSU and OSU and ended up at ND, there's little doubt in my mind he'd be a safety.
And I mistakenly called him Michael McDowell. Oops.

Article about how they want a "complete recruitment" and how they took a trip out west on their own dime to show schools that he's not a lock to pOSU.
I just can't tell if they are truly open to all schools, or if the trips to other schools are simply to build him up as a national recruit and to get/maintain a 5 star status.

His books had nothing to do with him not going to ND. He was going to OSU from the git.
Sorry bro but that's not 100% accurate. Maybe he goes to OSU no matter what but ND stopped recruiting him because he can't qualify. Our commits were after him hardcore, and he at the very least was entertaining them, ever wonder why that just stopped out of nowhere?

They targeted him as their #2 and all it got was the same sappy back and forth that you just read from Coach Stepp and Malik Vann. The bottom line is, you have no business throwing the kid under the bus when the only people who thought he MIGHT go to ND were the ones reading the services or following along on Twitter.

I have a 50-60 hr job I do in my spare time. But if I did that for a living, Wiltfong would wash my car while Mike Farrell gave me pedicures.

Go ask any recruiting mod if Gill was qualified for ND. This isn't a secret, ND wasn't an option for him academically. I'm not throwing anyone under the bus, this is common knowledge.
