Not sure what to make of it but BGI thought he had a good day.

Oh and to top it off Cam McGrone who I love and is trending to SCUM was the most athletic LB and one of the top 4 overall LB's. FML

I don't think I've ever seen him wrap up, but he has so much potential. He just looks different out there - he's every bit his listed size and moves with ease. If he gets the fundamentals down he's going to be a really good CFB player.
Film for film, he's #4 on the '18 LB depth chart for me.
Him signing early may have cost ND McGrone. If Simon ends up at Buck, it's all a moot point.

Are you saying #4 in the country, or #4 in the ND class?
... at LB.
He's tied with Micah Jones just ahead of Cole Mabry at the back of the pack.
So you're really low on him. Any particular reason why? Other than the lack of fundamentals, which personally doesn't concern me because if he's coachable, that will be fixed?
I think he has NFL measurements and moves really well. He's also aggressive, and you can see that in his film. If I had two bones to pick it'd be that he tackles too high, and doesn't wrap up. Both fixable. You can't fix that size though. He's listed at 6'3" and actually looks 6'3".
I hope you're right because I also think he's near the backend. I've been plenty wrong in the past but Simon and Lamb both look better to me. Bo and Ovie are fairly close in my estimation.
I would've put McGrone with Simon and Lamb. The reports out of the Opening were McGrone had coveted speed and was blanketing receivers.
Oh well, I hope all of our guys show NFL potential once they step foot on campus (after faxing in their letters).
I was talking film now. He has some ceiling, no doubt.
Funny thing is everyone has been going on and on around the web about his athleticism and though he turned in a sub 4.1 shuttle which is awesome... he ran just mid 4.8 and 4.9's 40's with the laser and the bright lights on.
ND's stocked up at LB/Rover/SS for sure. I don't think they will miss McGrone, I think taking Lamb over him made sense from a roster management point of view but if Lamb, Bauer & Simon were the first three commits and it came down to OO and McGrone, I would have taken McGrone w/o question.
Can't wait to see how the rotations evolve in 2019-20.
I would take Lamb and Simon over Ovie too, but not by a lot. It wouldn't shock me if Ovie had a better career than 1 or both, but I'd still bet my money on Lamb and Simon.
I would, however, take Ovie over Bauer by a lot. That's the one that surprises me from Crusader's list.
Bauer's film to me is great. Ovie's defensive highlights are not. They aren't bad... you can see his athleticism chasing plays down side to side but he definitely has a different roll that isn't as impressive as Bauer shooting gaps and blowing sh!t up in the backfield.

I see what you're saying. We've been looking at this two different ways. You're looking at it as who's the better player right now when you watch the film. I'd probably agree Bauer then. But I feel I'm looking at it as who do I think is going to be better in 2020, and that's Ovie for me. Not a given, but that's where I'd put my money.
