Well if the number is 4 they seem set on the twins, Vann and Mustipher (unless there is something that is not being reported on PJ. For a HOT prospect he's on full radio silence)
There is nothing off the field that is bothering ND or any other school inregards to O'Rourke. He's been vetted.
There is no situation that can arise this cycle that would stop me from offering and taking O'Rourke if he'd want to come. Someone else would get left out if I ran out of spots.
Apparently I see something different in the films than some others.
Mustipher seems quiet. I don't know if that's good or not.
As has been my experience over the years, knowing a lot of these college coaches that have worked their way up over the years I've known them, there's always some interesting things going on that don't get into the ears of people at Rivals or Scout, etc. And if they do, they're not going to broadcast it on a message board or anywhere else. It's real easy to look at HUDL highlights and be impressed or go to a combine and watch a guy run around for a a few hours.
They get out of those controlled environments and are day to day students...and a lot of them are dogs. Some of them are also indifferent to playing football, too.
Having been a grad assistant and quality control coach at the I-AA level and now on staff at a large public HS in the Chicago area, I can promise you there are things you wouldn't even imagine, or there is just the simplest thing as a parent saying something wonky or rubbing a staff member the wrong way.
I understand the sentiment for this guy and for the Iowa kid. They both check boxes for large contingents of ND fans. I get the impression, however, based on how offers have been going out lately that these guys having not been offered isn't because of incompetence or laziness. Last defensive coordinator? Maybe.
