I mean did everyone just miss something here?

What did we miss? Is the lack of a question mark on his tweet his announcement or is just an oversight?

Nothing to get overly excited about. Now if it were Chase Cota, I'd call it an Easter Egg and be excited.

I'd say it's probable that Griffith's a silent already. Hope he puts on a commitment show with Austin, Franklin, Takacs and others at the Opening Finals.

That would be fantastic and a major boon to recruiting.

The Illinois 247 writer is close to this recruitment and he's the one that really started this CB trend of Griffith to ND.

Good to know. Does he have family in IL or something?

Even if the 2 of the 3 CBs were just 'followers', the fact that a bucknut switched to ND is telling.

Cool, thanks. Did his whole family move to FL for some reason? Or is he in Florida strickly to play for IMG and gain exposure?

I have no idea if his whole family moved, but this was his first season at IMG. Heck, it still says IL in the title of this thread. The Illini connection that I forgot is that his Dad played there

That's fine - this tells me what I was asking pretty much, which was basically did he move to FL when he was like 4, so his roots in IL aren't deep, or did he move from IL to FL very recently, so his roots are real.

His Dad still lives in Chicago at least during football season. He's one of the B1G Network's top analysts.

Oh, I certainly agree. I wasn't trying to diminish the importance of it, was actually trying to do the opposite. He's the "insider" on this one and he's giving the industry a lot of confidence in his ND pick.

He transferred from Chicago power house Mt. Carmel - where Simeon Rice, Donovan McNabb etc came from.

I thought IMG is like a boarding school.

I thought Griffith is from Chicago area and has lived in the Chicago area either most or all of his life. And now to finish up high school he is going to this boarding school in Bradenton, Florida called IMG.

Is this not correct?

I have a former college teammate that is a coach at IMG on the football team. That school is absolutely ridiculous. Now that they've proven that they can get athletes into Stanford, Notre Dame, and other high academic places, I am running out of reasons as to why every kid shouldn't go there. It is a stupidly nice campus, absolutely bonkers facilities, and they have the best of the best that come down there and train regularly. For post-college life, your employer looks at where you went to college, not where you went to high school, so I would definitely take advantage of the easy curriculum and amazing athletic preparation at IMG and go to a Notre Dame, Stanford, Duke, Vanderbilt, or Northwestern to play football. It's a top tier high school for building your football talent.

It all depends on the kid and the family. Some kids want to stay home with their parents until college. Have the full local town high school experience.

Bad news.

Gus Ramos went foggy on his CB for the Irish.

Wiltfong still sitting on the lone OSU CB.

I always thought Griffith would end up at a football factory and OSU would be his choice.

Even if he did commit to ND, I always thought he would end up at a football factory.

Basically, Gus's CB was that he was expecting Griffith to visit ND and give his commitment. Since it doesn't look like that is taking place, and instead Griffith may visit other schools, he went to foggy on his CB.

Huge overreaction by 247, IMO. It's obviously not good news, but all he's really saying is he's not committing to ND soon and will take other visits. He hasn't eliminated ND. He's just going to take more visits.
