It'd be a great pickup, I think we're all just being cautious. Real talk: would Houston be the second best safety in the incoming class behind Derrik Allen?

Absolutely he would, but he might end up at CB due to depth needs, especially if the staff felt like Robertson is coming along well, or that Love can be moved to FS.

I'm more than okay with all of that

ND sees him as a long term safety. He knows this and must be ok with it.. They wouldn't have made a Twitter header edit for him with Safety on it otherwise.

Me in 3 years, with Allen and Griffith starting on the back end, with Ademilola, and MTA on the inside, Lamb and Bauer at LB with Simon at Rover

And our no-name corners are just getting absolutely toasted on 3-step passes because we signed zero of them for two years.

I'm pretty surprised this thread isn't more livid... This could be the biggest D pickup in quite awhile imo.

I certainly think he’s a really good prospect but I’m just as excited about Lamb, Simon, Jayson A, and Allen. Personally, I think it’s a coin flip and circumstances that will ultimately determine the most productive collegiate player from that group.

Man...Lamb, Simon, Jayson A, Allen, Griffith, and potentially Gordon is a friggin' haul.

Definitely is. Gordon probably takes it to another level in my eyes, as he'd be the sure fire CB we've been missing. UW, who knows a thing or two about corners, is calling him "the" lockdown corner of this class for them.

Since we are talking about the future someone mentioned Bauer and ISD doesn’t seem high on him. Not concerns like Adams but they are wondering if he can play side line to side line.

I've heard a lot that Adams can't play. What are the concerns? Is it just lack of speed?

Sounds like health mostly.
That was my fear...because you can overcome foot speed as a LB. Damn shame...Are their new health issues? Or dealing with the issues carrying over from Senior of high school that are just not healing?

True, but the way I interpreted his post was it would be a "mehh" pickup.

I agree, but I wonder if that was what Matt was actually saying.

To me:

Decent = Not necessarily a wasted scholarship, but not clear if they ever get significant minutes on a good team (Byrne)
Good = Will probably be in the rotation at some point on a good team (Bivin)
Great = Will probably be a starter sooner or later on a good team (Bars)
Elite = Probably going to be a factor from day 1, regardless of who is a head of him (Nelson)

Latest tweet makes it sound like it’s a done deal and heading to ND.

Assuming but I think it’s a good assumption.

So, coaches visit him on Thursday, and they'll fly back to Chicago to meet with his parents in the same day. Apparently there is a 24 hour rule, so as long as we get it done inside 24 hours, it works.

My feeling is this is done by Sunday evening.

Moved up in Rivals rankings from #47 to #35 overall. If this were 247's rankings, that's borderline 5 star status.

In Rivals final ranking last year, 5 star down to #34. As of this update, it's only down to #26.
