He defiantly had crap QBs. And whether his line was great is hard to say. It’s like calling all those Pats WRs great.

Says who, you? At the time, Peete, Kramer, and Mitchell all had serviceable to good seasons in there.

Who is calling all those pat WR's great? Moss, Welker, and Gronk were/are considered great WR's because...they were great. The other's? I think people might consider them great WR's...for the patriots. Those first 3 all had/have multiple Pro Bowl and All Pro seasons. It's not hard to say the Lions line was not crap when they had 2 of the best OL in football for the decade of the 90's. That isn't subjective. It would be similar to me opining,"Brady, Moss, and Welker being great is hard to say."

How many RB's can say they had a 4,000 yard passer, a WR who set the single season reception record, 2 other 1,000 yard WR's, a future Pro Bowl TE, and 2 Pro Bowl/All Pro OL, all on the same field with them? I'll wait for that answer.

And this was all also done in an era when 4,000 yard passers were almost unheard of, multiple 1,000 yard WR's on the same team were almost unheard of (the Lions had 3), QB's didn't regularly complete more than 61 or 62% of their passes, and rule changes were in effect to protect QB's, WR's, and Offenses in general.

Since we are off topic again, what Sanders did as a senior at ok st was the most amazing thing I ever witnessed from a player

True. Well, technically it was his junior year, but that season was almost unimaginable.

LOL. You serious? Rodney Peete was a serviceable back up and a crappy starter. Mitchell has exactly one pretty good year and the rest were not good. Kramer never had a good season for the Lions. Did you smoke crack before this post?

There was no reason to respect their QBs. None.

You could make the argument that lines are rewarded based on RB production, especially back in the true RB era. If he had even a top 15 QB he would have destroyed every record in place.

I think he might've destroyed them anyway, but he walked away from the game early.

On the likely to flip scale are we talking: done deal, before long, likely, possible, dreaming?

Kramer got them to the NFC championship game.

In the early, mid-90's NFL, the Peete-Kramer-Mitchell combo wasn't some total shit show. They put together good/serviceable years. Mitchell put up 1, arguably, great year. None of them were the best QB's in the league (and yes, had some bad years in there as well), but weren't considered the floor of QB play in the league either, at that time. To say or make the point that the Lions QB play wasn't ever good or serviceable is almost as disingenuous as to say the Lions OL was garbage- which was the point of my OP. People are tending to be revisionists regarding the entire Lions team and that era.

Seriously? Outside of one good Scott Mitchell year they were bad. As a Vikings fan I watched way too many Lions games.

The Lions has very good WRs during his time.
The Lions has some very good OL players but generally an average or below average line in totality. Their QBs were bad. Like Cleveland Browns the past 10 years or so. Actually that is a good comparison. Just as Nitchell had one good year for the Lions, Anderson had one for the Browns.

Ok This is getting a bit ridiculous. This thread is starting to approach a point where there will soon be more posts about about Sanders/Lions then about C'Bo

And again, if you have three excellent WRs and Barry Sanders, the QB should look amazing, like every USC QB during the Pete Caroll era.

Can we keep this thread on topic, please? What does this tweet have to do with Barry Sanders?

That picture doesn't even look real. It's like a wax museum representation of a happy beautiful family.

Freeman from ISD must have a good source on this one, bc he has been high on ND's chances for longer than anyone I've been reading. Just said he'd be "shocked" if C-Bo didn't end up Irish.

We need a RB so this would be a welcomed flip.

If Flemister picks ND tomorrow, does that take a spot away from one of Brown, Eason, and Patterson if all three want to jump on board? I know we’d definitely make room for Solomon T, but I wonder if they’d go over 25 for any of the others.

EEs don't count toward the 25, right? We'll have room.

Just a guess but based on need and talent I’d say:

Flemister/Patterson
Brown
Eason

But Loy threw in a CB for Eason to ND, so he must be hearing something on that front.
