Positive things from Kelly about Austin’s situation. Doing very well on scout team. If Book stays and keeps this play up, we should have plenty of weapons next year. Jordan Johnson will be a day 1 guy to mix in with Kmet, Austin, Lenzy, Tremble and Keys. That’s a lot of speed, size, and talent.

Claypool was raving about him this past week. Called him a special talent. We need a #1 guy next year and I think he's our best bet. Just gotta keep it together off the field.

Don’t forget about Wilikins and Jay Brunelle is gonna be a good one

Realizing we don’t really know his situation, is there any chance he’d be available in a bowl game? The current semester would be over.

If he has been putting in as they say then he deserves something. Throw him a bone.

Guys am I missing something but how does a guy get put into the doghouse, lose a whole year, and nothing actually be said about why? Doesnt make a lot of sense. Or did I miss it somewhere that it was said why this guy is sitting all year? If not, how is this acceptable to anyone backing ND football that there be absolutely nothing said other than vague cover statements meanwhile the team has one receiver who can do anything?

My guess is probably because they are not allowed to say anything by either legal, NCAA, or ND statutes and reporters understand and respect that limitation. That's also why there are no questions being asked every single week by the media.

I really don't care what he did or did not do at this point. Sitting the whole season is a pretty stiff penalty. Regardless of details, he's had to have paid his dues by now...let him play in the bowl, coach.

You gotta think that some of these young guys are taking notice that you don't need to be "the guy" for 3 or 4 years to get to the NFL. Boykin and Claypool were only the guy for 1 season each and both are going to be just fine making money playing football. That probably keeps Austin vested knowing that he has the chance to be the guy next year in an offense that should be loaded.

Also, Freeman had some good insight basically saying if he was going to transfer, he would've done it already.

If he was suspended for the fall semester it ends 12/20 so technically he could be "free". If it was for the "season" then i guess not.

Next years version of what should have been a three year star become a one hit wonder. Hope he tears it up and then goes and gets paid. #kellysdoghousestrikesagsin

Has nothing to do with Kellys doghouse. It was a University thing. The staff tried to get him to play this year, but the University didn't budge.

Or just stay out of the doghouse

Actually players like Dexter W have really thrived after having to step away for a while. Doghouse tends to ‘work’

where can that be confirmed as official? Worst part of the ordeal (apart from him not playing) was zero information.

This has nothing to do with Kelly’s doghouse. Kevin made multiple very poor decisions and had to live with the consequences. Sounds like he’s learned from it and ready to move forward.

It can only be confirmed by Austin.

Schools are gagged by Federal Law. They can generally only officially confirm if a student is enrolled or not, or on a team roster or not. And if doesn't come under FERPA, it comes under ND's policy not to comment on matters of student conduct. They leave it up to the student to comment if they so chose.

Dexter thrived anytime Kelly had the balls to play him.

It was mentioned in at least one if not two of the podcasts I listen to. Irish Illustrated. B&G and sometimes Irish Maven.
