This favors schools who rely on true student-athletes IMO. Sure, ND would lose a kid at some point, but the factories would see the biggest turnover. I don’t think it adversely affects them but it makes their job recruiting replacements harder.
I hope the XFL or AAF truly does allow drafting kids out of HS. Then we’ll see how many players need to be paid to feed themselves & their families vs hitting the lottery. I suspect most would still go the college route b/c while there may not be a tangible $ value placed on the television platform that P5 schools get to showcase their wares for the NFL...it still trumps what the other pro leagues offer.
I don't see the XFL or AAF being able to sustain unless the get a subsidy from the NFL and end up being a true farm system. Both the WFL and XFL took a shot at it once before and failed. IMO the NFL would allow kids who have completed their sophomore year before they do anything else.
