They are a sexy sleeper pick to make a playoff run this year, which is a year early on their timeline. The schedule sets up nice with a lot of traditionals being down w/ QB questions plus SC and Stanford come to them and the only heavy they have on the road are the Ducks.

Feel like Washington has been a sexy sleeper pick for a bunch of years now. Then they finish 7-6 while Oregon competes for conference titles and playoff berths. We'll see.

Nah. People have figured Coach Pete would win on his resume alone. He needed players and they've chosen to take their lumps and develop talent. They're here now to stay. I figured them for an 7-5 reg season team last year. I'll go 10-2 this year with a game one way or the other. I think them and Stanford are a toss up for who wins the north. I have no idea who Stanford will be. All I know is they won't be the #8 team in the country. They don't have the same horses in the barn as they've had recently.

I see UDub a lot like Tennessee only Coach Pete is a rung or two up the ladder from Butch Jones. Butch just has better recruits, for now. If UDub gets the Cali feeder going like the Don James days... hide the women and children.

A lot of resources for UW with that alumni base and the location has appeal. They just needed a competent coach. Oregon and Oregon State fans, are still in somewhat of denial for what is about to come. He's taking them places, at least relative to the conference.

If they are Fr/So/Jr then there's time to work in a foreign language or the required math classes but senior year? You need to be buttoned up fall semester so when you sign those papers in Feb, you are done. The last thing you want is a kid who's still an if andd he doesn't pass his Spanish or Calculus class in the spring and he ends up at a juco in Ann Arbor.

Not throwing out offers early enough to kids who have plenty of time to qualify and IF Loy and Lax are correct, holding on to kids who can't get in too long.

I might be inclined to continue to recruit a 5 star Shaun Wade for exposure, other 5&4 stars see that ND is a player for that level of player and also to stay close with the program at Trinity (a factory) and next year's big dog, Tyreke Johnson who has always said the right things about ND. Programs gets recruited through players that normally wouldn't get the love just so the college staff can keep the relationship strong. It 100% happens.
