You would do the EXACT same thing. if you didn't, you'd be a fool.

This is how the system is set up. It will be that way until there is an early signing day or better yet, you can officially sign at anytime.

If you want to play top tier football at a top tier program that expects you to acquire a top tier education, you have two choices. You have to do what it takes to get into one of them. If you wait too long for an offer or admissions... you may end up a rung down the ladder at Evanston, Durham or gulp... Nashville.

No, I'd do the logical thing and remain uncommitted, continue to remain open in my recruitment and hear from coaches while waiting to hear back from Stanford on whether I've been admitted or not.

A recruit isn't obligated or required to sign until NSD at a minimum. If I'm a recruit, I'd have the common sense to not waste a coaching staff's valuable time and resources when I'm not truly all in. If I'm waiting to hear back from Stanford, then I'm not going to commit to one school, stay committed for several months, only to hear back from Stanford in late December/early Jan and say so-long suckers and jump ship.

I get it, recruiting is fast pace and plans change. This doesn't appear to be a situation where intentions or plans changed. Adebo was waiting on Stanford and jumped ship almost instantly once he appeared to have gotten the green light. It's not like with Pouncey, where he was solid to us, but then got that dream offer from Miami that he wasn't expecting. I hate losing a kid regardless, but it's hard to be too tough on the kid when he gets offered by the childhood favorite school.

what if you hold out for stanford but then when at the 11th hour your don't get admitted and then you go back to your 2nd and 3rd choices and they say sorry our classes are full?

GREAT school, Won A LOT more than us recently (76-18 to our 59-31 since 2010), Location: CALIFORNIA!!!

what if ND made a satellite campus in california, where the players can stay in winter and spring. Then summer and fall back on the main campus.

Can you imagine if ND was in Orange Co, CA or W Palm Beach, FL? They'd have to join a conference then for sure... the AFC or the NFC. #TooGood4College

He has looked very good tonight. He’s had some nice pass breakups, a tackle for loss, and a touchdown saving tackle. SDSU looks like they gameplanned to challenge him since he’s inexperience, but he’s been more than up to the challenge.....

Seems like almost half of Stanford’s roster is guys we almost got

FWIW, he was recruited to play DB. That's why ND Nation spent the next 12+ months roasting Todd Lyght, because he "lost" Adebo and Hicks, and hadn't seen a commitment since Pride.

I know, I was just making a general statement. They should just let recruits play where they want if they are good enough. Also from another post, I am very happy with Love and Pride. It would be tough for him to start over them.

kid is a Baller.

You have that right. However, if (and this is a big IF) the refs are watching closely, he's pretty "handsy". Watching him against Oregon, I was surprised that he didn't get called for PI on at least two big plays.

Regardless, he is fast, has great presence and a nose for the ball. That being said, I am going to predict at least one PI call against him for a good gain.

Cheers and Go Irish!!

That seems to be a common mistake with top level talent. Get em on campus, let them compete and go from there.

Y'all are making something out of nothing. It was over when Stanford offered. It was a well known fact around Texas recruiting circles.

The rest of the game, Oregon was moving the ball very effectively, until they turned it over. Oregon’s QB was not afraid of Adibo and targeted him multiple times in OT. He got away with the most blatant possible pass interference on the first target. It should have been a TD, or at least 15 yards and a first down. It was bad enough that both Herbie and Fowler agreed that it was an unexplainable no call without any question or doubt. Thanks the second play was good, but I doubt his confidence is the same if he gives up a TD or PI.

Stanford came back because of turnovers and bad call from Oregon’s coach. Their TD in OT was a good but lucky play by the TE on a bad throw.

Stanford and Shaw are good, but they get lucky sometimes too.

Lindy's and Phil Steele magazines name Adebo to their defensive 1st team pre-season all American team. Too bad we couldn't have held onto him.

Yea, too bad he’s gonna get beat again. Must be rough. Chose the wrong team on top at the wrong time. Sold too low and bought too high.

I hear that. But the main reason was he and his family wanted that Stanford degree.

Could you imagine if he was on ND this year. Notre Dame would have arguably the top secondary in the country. Or even if he was at ND last year. You would have Pride and Adebo on the outside and then could have started Love at Nickle.....Damn!

A few of my friends and I were talking about that last week. The idea of that secondary with Elliott and Gilman at safety would've been as good as I can remember. Couple that with the defensive line we have and I wouldn't be near as worried about the LB situation.

Was First Team All PAC

Had 4 Int's & 10 PBU's

Chose to return instead of entering the draft.

Bad move... for both himself & Ian Book.
