FWIW< Dave Berk at Scout said the MSU staff is split on him. Maybe that changed.

If we only have 3-4 spots left and this kid waits, given we have two current LB commits plus our '18 LB commits, Simmons might end up being left out.

well they're coming off a 3-9 season and they've practically swung and missed on everyone.

ND had a disastrous season as well, but they've still been recruiting at a high level despite it.

MSU can't get a commit from one of their Plan A guys to save their lives right now. They can't afford to be picky.

Except nobody ever gets left out because we always have spots left at the end when it's over.

hoping he picks ND just to see the meltdown from State fans. They just lost 4* CB Ambry Thomas to Michigan and 4* WR KJ Hamler to Penn State. They were leading for Thomas and Hamler for a very long time, and right now only have 3 commits in the top 25 players in Michigan, the #9 (4* WR Hunter Rison- son of MSU great Andre) , #10 (3* OL Jordan Reid) , and #11 (3* WR Cody White).

The only top 25 players from the state they have a shot left with are 4*'s Simmons (#7) and Derron Irving-Bey (#6). Would like to see them get neither.

like this kid Cody White he's talented and won the Mr. Football Award in Michigan HS ball. He'll be wasted playing WR for state though

Wilfong stated he heard from a source very close to Simmons that he's pretty much an ND lock.

I noticed 5 new CBs to ND came in between last night and this morning. Did anything happen, or did he put a date on announcing?

I just listened to a Michigan podcast (don't ask me why), and a few of their mods from Rivals said they're "kicking the tires" with Simmons.

I don't like that one bit at all.

But shouldn't be to concerned as Harbough will take the Bears job.

UM is recruiting a lot of guys, some more than others. Like with Banks, I'm not sure they are truly pushing for him. I've also read that some are questioning how much UM is really pushing for Hicks either. They are recruiting him, but he's not a priority.

Like with Banks, I could see the others seeing through that.

I'd be delightfully surprised. I just don't see him leaving scUM at this point, but if he would leave for ANY job, it's definitely the Bears.

???

If the Colts and the Bears were open at the same time, he goes to the Colts. Irsay's his boy and would open up the checkbook. Virginia McCaskey still uses lay away at JC Penney's. Bears won't pay until the McCaskey's are done throwing nickels around like manhole covers.

I dunno. The Bears have been much more invested into building from the ground up, a la the Cubbies, and Pace has done a good job cleaning up the mess Angelo/Emery left him.

But I also forgot that it would be a chance for him to reunite with Luck as well.

That being said, this is all probably a pipedream. I don't imagine he's leaving any time soon...

I was caught by surprise when it was mentioned Harbaugh back to the NFL so soon. However, listening to local spots radio some NFL insiders have said it's not that far fetched and Indy would be at or near the top of his list. As NDC said, he and Irsay are buddies and Irsay would give him as much more control in running the team. Irsay isn't afraid to open his pocket book either.

no way Irsay could take a backseat and let Harbaugh run things as he sees fit. His ego is too big

Disagree. He let Grigson do what he wanted as GM, and look where that got the Colts. I feel sorry for Coach P having to be the recipient of Grigson's crap.... Anyway, Irsay would still tweet, but that's about all he'd do if JH came.

Jimmy come on down. I said it was not far fetched a good while ago in one of the threads. He's well liked in Indy. Irsay loves him and he'd have his old playa playa Luck back. Good situation for all. Coach Comeback!!
