Would be a huge get. Him and Daelin off the edge! Yes please!

Problem is he won't see the field to his junior year SMDH...

How much playing time is Daelin Hayes getting? How often was Morgan on the field his first two years. I'll believe it when I see it.

Notable freshman getting snaps.

D. Hayes 131
14.56/game (roughly 20% of all snaps, fairly significant amount)

Pride 175
19.44/game

Elliot 94
10.44/game

Love 384
42.67/game

Studstill 446
49.56/game

Vaughn 210
23.33/game

Cole Luke has played 66.44 snaps/game, (essentially all snaps, give or take a handful per game), so we'll use him as the starting point.

That means that we have 5 freshman (on defense) that are playing, on overage, roughly 20%+ of the eligible snaps, each game. 4 players are playing roughly 30%+ of snaps, 2 freshman are playing roughly 65%+. That's quite a bit. In fact, that's probably too much and partially why were are 3-6.

Morgan started half of the season his freshman year and was given freshman AA honors by some.

Trumbetti, J. Hayes, Rochell, and Cage are all DL that were given quite a few snaps as true freshman.

Maybe the worst year to put your foot down and say that Kelly and staff don't play freshman, lol.

While those people are playing, who the heck else would they throw out back there, if Love/Elliot/Studstill/Vaughn/Pride weren't playing? It's not like they have a lot of Joe Schmidts they can force onto the field at the detriment of the secondary.

Nick Coleman, Aston White, Avery Sebastian, and Nico Fertita.

If what we are trying to say is that this staff doesn't play freshman, then they could most certainly create a starting DB field, with no freshman on it. Heck, they did against Texas, and that coach is gone. Since his departure, freshman have been playing a lot. Which is precisely why I illustrated this above and Sherm might need to re-think his stance, that is all.

Also, Jerry Tillery played a lot as a freshman. Heck they are even wasting Julian Okwara and Jamir Jones's RS to get them on the field, lol. We need to play less freshman.

Coleman and Sebastian are very bad football players.

I realize this, wasn't saying they were good. Read the post that I quoted. If the staff was hell bent on not playing freshman, they do have other options. Like they did against Texas.

Kelly and staff have played freshman throughout his tenure. Shumate, Luke, KVR, Lynch, and Day are more examples of players that played meaningful snaps as freshman. We could do this all day. They play freshman that are talented enough to be on the field. We saw a little bit of regression in this when BVG was DC, what didn't we see a regression in (haha), but Kelly has always been fine with playing freshman, that should be playing. Again, I think too friendly.

First of all I was being facetious.

Second the only reason why Morgan saw so much time as a freshman was due to injuries. We can see how talented he is this year. Why was he not playing at all last year except on special teams? He was not even in a rotation.

Third let me ask you a few questions: Who was more talented in 2015 Morgan or Schmidt?
Who is more talented Daelin Hayes or Trumbetti?
Who is more talented Nick Coleman or Love/Vaughn/Pride? Who was the third CB at the beginning of the season?

I guess that is all on BVG?

Yessir! GO IRISH!!!

Was in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan for week a few weeks back. First time ever in Canada. We just purchased a company in Vancouver. Hoping in the next year the company will send me out there. If that happens I will def have to look you up and buy you a beer. I'd also spend a few extra days, non work days, in the area as I have never been to the great Pacific NorthWest. You know checkout Vancouver a little more, checkout near by Canadian cities (I.E. Victoria) and villages and of course go down 3 hours to Seattle!

Yes! This is good news! You ALWAYS have a place to crag out here. Would love to show you around. Vancouver island is great. Nanaimo, on Van island, an hour north of Vic, I have a loft there and it's a beautiful city on the ocean. Anyways here's my number 2508167938. Keep in touch, GO IRISH

lol I wrote bear instead of beer. How expensive is a bear up there to buy?

What is a crag? Is it some Canadian term? Or was that a typo and you meant to write crash?

Ps next time I would send phone numbers in a private message. You don't know what sick creeps like Koon could with that information.

It is not always about talent. Experience and understanding the defense actually matter. Ask anyone who watched Coleman in fall camp and and they would have said it was a no brainer that he would start. It was a real surprise that he played poorly starting off the season. Hayes had played very little football the past two years so it was logical to break him in slowly. He had a lot of rust to wear off. Plus BVG's defense was not easy for a true FR. to digest.

Hahaha. Yes I meant crash. You're welcome here anytime. And I welcome all creeps to text/call me. Good entertainment. Not sure how much a bear costs but beer is about the same as the U.S

So we've concluded that because Hayes/Vaughn/Love/Pride didn't start day 1 versus Texas, that Kelly doesn't play freshman, haha. Yes, what great points those are.

Forget all the other examples or how much those guys are actually playing currently. That's not important

If Josh is good enough to play, Kelly and staff will play him.

If early playing time and a good degree are important to him, he'll come to ND. His tape REALLY does and always has impressed me big time and I've said before that I think he should be ranked MUCH higher. I think this kid will be an absolute stud at the college level.
