Walker's a New Orleans charter school in West Bank New Orleans. The Recovery School District merged two failing public schools a few years ago to create it (one was O.P. Walker, which is where Keenan Lewis, Mike Wallace, and Kendrick Lewis all went). I know since the merger, it has dramatically improved academically, but I couldn't tell you whether the typical course load meets all of Notre Dame's admissions requirements. Still, he's coming from one of New Orleans' stronger high school football programs.

New Orleans (La.) Landry-Walker quarterback Keytaon Thompson has informed Irish247 that Notre Dame has extended a scholarship offer.

The 6-4, 210-pounder from the class of 2017 now holds four offers from the Irish, Arizona State, Florida and Texas Tech.

On film, there is a lot to like about Thompson's game. He possesses good arm talent. He spins the football very well. He has a nice, quick release. He moves extremely well and has very impressive speed. He also looks very comfortable and natural in the pocket. However, his overall athleticism is truly what separates him from many others his age. When plays break down, Thompson is able to escape, use his legs and make big plays happen.

This is crazy talent for his age...or any age. I'm sure offers are going to start pouring in. It's hard to tell sometimes what kind of competition he's playing against. Does anyone know?

He is obviously so much better than everyone else in that film that it is difficult to determine how good his competition is. This kid is going to be a great talent, but he is a growth spurt away from being a power forward in college.

NOLAIrish is right this is a merger of two schools on the Westbank of New Orleans, they beat St. Augustine which was Leonard Fournette's old school and they beat Edna Karr which has placed a lot of kids in D1schools, I believe Speedy Noil went there. Their competition is apparently pretty legit. (Read as dang good).

I looked at their website and they have apparently tried to turn up the academics at this new merger school so who knows, but historically speaking... I would not consider Landry or Ol Perry Walker the type of schools that would graduate future ND students.

I'm glad we got in early on him.

Above-average to strong. Edna Karr and Warren Easton are both on that video (Easton is the first team). Those are both very strong programs. Not all of his competition is impressive, but he's playing a pretty typical schedule for an upper-tier Louisiana high school program.

This kid dots the "I's" and crosses the "T's" for me!

Interesting that Harry Junior is on his recruitment. That says volumes for the state of recruiting at ND, and for the quality of the Grad assistants!

Hope this one works out!

Per that article Keytaon hasn't received an offer yet. ND have requested his transcripts and he is in the "process" of getting an offer.

Interesting that he likes how ND and Ohio State use their QBs but doesn't think LSU's offense is a good fit for him. Hopefully if Sanford does commit to the run it will allow whoever wins the starting QB job to put up impressive stats.

He is just the contact. Sanford will most likely be on him once they review his transcripts

ND was first to contact him last night--247

"It means a lot," said Thompson of Notre Dame reaching out. "I had completely forgotten that coaches can contact me after August.

"I know that coach Sanford was waiting for the time to strike midnight so he could talk to me. It means that he's interested and he has hopes of me getting to Notre Dame."

Haven't seen the film - does this guy have some Miles Boykin in him? I know he's been called really fast.

He seems pretty tall for a QB... Probably destined to be a third-stringer like Kizer.

In all seriousness, if I am Les Miles and ND offers a LA QB, I camp at that school every day until he commits. That is the one position they cannot seem to land lately.

He's an extremely strong lean to LSU

You guys think we take two QB's next year?

Loy said we could take two. If we get Avery Davis which is a strong possibility I think we definitely look for another one.

This kid could be a serious problem in our offense, good lord. BK needs to be recruiting this kid personally.
