My man. It's sad that an Indy kid is going to OSU...

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You know it's only 20 miles farther to Columbus than to South Bend?

What sucks is he's at Indy Cathedral which is affiliated with the Congregation of the Holy Cross, same as ND.

Think of some of our defensive recruits we lost over the years with BK because of laziness or just being out worked or him fucking up with the Eagles. Imagine if we just kept half of these guys!!

Aaron Lynch
Alex Anzalone
Ronald Darby
Eddie Vanderdoes
Danny Mattignly I liked him as a player a lot
Richard Yeargin
Robert Beal
Peter Werner
Brian Poole
Donovan Jeter really like this kid
Davante Neal could have been an explosive slot DB for us
D Rob
Caleb Kelly

who else am I missing that guys were close to coming to ND or actually might have been leaning that we lost out on? This could be fun and interesting. Would love to hear stories as well also if you have a question about recruitment I will most likely remember

Sam Hubbard

Mattingly was pushed out, right?

More to the story than lazy recruiting for some of these guys but your point still stands.

What was the story with Deon Hollins? Wasn't he considering ND and the staff was luke warm b/c of his height? I remember he had a filthy first step and maybe could have given us something on the edge the last two years.

Hubbard lol Fucking Diaco

Mattingly wasn't pushed out staff just stopped recruiting him. That was 2013 when our class was so sick we were turning away top players. Man just shows of awesome winning is this program is so average because we can't put together to great classes in a row and get elite players. We have been getting average/good classes and that is why we are an average/decent program

Deon Hollins I forget Lax or someone else would know but his first step was lethal

GB you know you are my boy. But you cannot include Lynch, Vanderfuck and Devante Neal. They all signed with ND. Can't blame any of those in Kelly, especially Neal and Lynch who actually rocked the gold helmet. Neal got in off the field trouble and transferred. Lynch was very immature and transferred. And Kelly did nothing wrong with Vanderfuck. Stop trolling us GB.

Why do you have to open the Brian Poole wound again? You know how I feel about that!

Ok, just because they signed with ND they didn't really play besides Lynch he played a lot. Vandedoes never played and Neal only fair caught punts so he never really played. My post was more referencing imagine if those guys stayed and played for ND as well. Sorry I didn't include that. And please shut up with me "trolling" I am not trolling anybody one bit. Look up the word trolling before you start making shit up bro.

You're my boy but don't make shit up and accuse me or doing something I'm not doing at all.

Loved his high school film. So physical and hit. He didn't turn out to be the stud I thought he would. But he had a very good career. I also loved Tracey Howard that year. Thought Tracey was the best corner that year. I was dead wrong, his career died at the U.

Vanderdoes never played

Who are you kidding? That is trolling. VANDERDOES WAS NEVER A STUDENT. He sent in an LOI and suddenly discovered a sick grandma. Kelly went to the wall refusing to release him and was vilified in the press for doing so.
By the way how many of ND's 8 losses would have been wins with Vanderdoes 27 tackles this year in 12 games. Would his 2 tackles per game have been significant?

Aaron Lynch is another trolling example. He was a prima donna at ND and everywhere else he went. Kelly, DC, Position Coach, Manti, and his mom, Alice, a former member here, all tried and failed. Alice even asked Justin Tuck to "counsel" her son into staying at ND. ALL FOR NOUGHT.

Neal - wasn't he the recruit that was making his commitment announcement at his grade school assembly and then stiffed them? Wasn't he the guy with off field issues at ND? A head problem? I recall him arriving at ND as a highly touted WR/KR and not matching his HS performances. I also recall a lot of fans protesting his lack of PT due to others passing him on the depth chart. Yet I don't recall fans protesting that he be a starting DB? Was it my faulty memory or your revisionist posting?

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Anzalone commit to ND when he didn't have an offer from UF and then flipped when he did? I seem to remember several recruitiniks saying Anzalone would not stick with ND.

D Rob are we talking the classy ND student athlete WR who had to give football due to injuries or the HS Dual QB/CB recruit Denard Robinson who said he would only go to a school that would play him at QB?
From his Wiki file:
Michigan initially recruited Robinson as a defensive back, and Robinson declined.[16] Robinson recalled that it was one of his goals to play quarterback at the college level.[16] After observing his passing abilities, Michigan recruited Robinson as a quarterback. On February 4, 2009, Robinson announced that he had signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Michigan

Then he went on to the NFL and didn't play defense. He's a RB/WR.

Denard was NEVER a viable ND prospect despite your trolling.

I'm not going through the rest of your specious list. I'll close with your inclusion of Donovan Jeter who hasn't stepped on a Division I football field as he's ineligible as a high school player to be at ND now. Another name use pulled to fit a narrative.

I can recall Holtz uttering "the 40 year mistake" over a kicker that spurned ND for FSU. I remember Holtz sending prima donna home before big games as both HC of ND and Arkansas. I remember Parseghian being turned down by the QB for Bishop Amat HS. kid named Pat Haden who won 2 National Championship. I remember Mike Frank offering to paint his butt blue if a highly touted RB didn't sign with ND. The RB reneged and so did Mike. Then there was an Oklahoma HS DL whose parents rubbed his body with sacred oils before each HS game. He committed to ND then flipped when his girl friend who apparently was rubbing another oil on part of his body announced she was with child. He made the choice to stay with his "family". Oh fire the coach for lack of effort, right GB?

Lots of recruits have disappointed coaches and fans with flipping through the decades for lots of reason (icluding "I like their helmets better) and they will continue to.

BGIF only person I am "trolling" is you because I wasn't at all and you are the only one who is affected by this

How does me bringing up difference makers like Lynch and Vanderdoes were and saying what could have been at ND trolling anybody? If you think I'm trolling then clearly I trolled you which I had no intentions of doing. Do you people have any idea what trolling means? Or is every just soft tonight?

Denard Robinson? Please tell me when I brought him up? I meant Demetrius Robertson but I forgot we recruited him at WR

My whole damn point of that list was thinking about guys WHO COULD OF AT THE POINT IN THEIR RECRUITMENT OR WOULD HAVE BASED ON THERE COLLEGE SUCCESS WOULD HAVE HELPED THIS DEFENSE.

Please tell me how the fuck me naming prospects who were committed to ND trolling anybody? Me naming lists of kids who were committed to ND is trolling?

Here we go BGIF I will just give you a pass on this one because you clearly have no idea what the frick trolling is. You wasted all your time commenting on that post not knowing and misinterpreting what I was talking about from the start.

Wild Bill, you forgot to add Taylor Decker who recommitted in january and committed to OSU.

The other issue is BK hired BVG who was a bad recruiter, or didn't go out. Crazy. BK has been outworked over and over and over. Sad, but true.

And it just came out to the public with Jeter stating the truth. Just sucks. With being in South Bend, up and down during BK's career, and academic load BK has to outwork the other coaches. But, he doesn't.

.

The narrative is Decker wanted to follow Warriner to Ohio St, his "dream school" but all that happened after Stanley committed in Dec. He was a developmental recruit, Ronnie Stanley was obviously plug and play. He obviously made the right choice getting out of RS's shadow.

Why do you scream at each other? This is what is sounds like... when trolls cry....

Well played.

Paraphrasing what I read from Brian Driskell:

Werner reportedly hadn't heard from ND since September. That was more troubling to him & his family than the 4-8 record.

Urban & Co. rolled out the red carpet this past weekend. After telling Pete he understood why he'd want to attend ND, Meyer recounted why he chose UF over ND back in '04 & knowing what he knows now he wouldn't consider ND as a coach for a plethora of reasons.

Werner didn't plan on decommitting until Fickle did an in-home on Monday to play up the rumors & instability at ND.

shouldn't it be common sense to reach out to commits, not even from a recruiting perspective, but from a human being/friend/mentor perspective?

That statement is staggering if true.

This whole situation is, in a nutshell, indicative of how much more professional the OSU staff is than ours. We're not even putting up a fight at the moment. Ball's in your court now BK.

I was going to type the exact same words followed by:

But I just can't buy it. Whether it's something lost in the paraphrasing translation or simply a misquote. These guys are on conference calls weekly with each other. We were doing that 30 years ago. If they didn't speak to him at all for 2 months, there is something else to this story and it will come out. And if they blew off a committed Pete Werner for ANY reason, they deserve all the sh!tty blowback they get.

It's amazing how bad of salespeople these guys are. Other salespeople in the industry are setting the narrative about ND football's product right now. ND is losing and it's not to the Rick Pitino's or the John Calipari level guys, they are losing to knuckle dragging bums. Guys I'd fire before their coffee got cold on Monday morning.

Give me the jet, a Bentley rental in each town and Malpass' checkbook for a month. They'd have to rename the US Army Bowl the Crusader Blue-Gold Game. Hookers and Mustang GT's still legal as gifts, right? Nevermind, I'll read the rulebook on the way to Deja Vu.

I am sure everyone remembers the movie Jerry McGuire, right? When I think of ND recruiting I think of ND being Tom Cruise and everyone else being Jay Mohr after Jay Morh's character fires Jerry McGuire. Jerry McGuire is calling all of clients in hopes they stay with him but in the end Jay Morh scoops up all of Jerry's clients...... BUT JERRY AT LEAST CALLED THEM ALL!!!

With the way the season has gone I would think they would go all Jerry McGuire and call everyone as much as they can and kiss as much butt as they can. Right now I think the scene that explains ND football right now is this one:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onRbNsxRBVQ

In the end Jerry McGuire got an undersized WR, a few fish and an office secretary. Hoping ND can do a little better.

If this report is true, is it possible they may have cooled on this kid? And maybe they had another recruit in mind? I mean none of us are behind the scenes.

That seems unlikely considering this kid is a projected to be a beast and ND needs LB.

One positive aspect of this shit show. Kelly & Co. have recruited pretty well during his tenure. Imagine what a Coach would do if he actually gave a shit about recruiting?

I didn't mean literally pulling the scholly. More of a distance themselves with communication and hope he starts looking elsewhere, which obviously he did. I just find it really hard to believe they would just stop communications with a player that was committed, unless A) this isn't true or B) they weren't impressed with him anymore and found other more suitable players.

I don't think they're lazy when it comes to recruiting and they've done a good job of putting together classes. Something is off with this one though....
