I hope it's more uncertainty regarding the HC than it is they were bad for a year. The team is well stocked with young talent. They will be very good for the next few years regardless of who coaches or who quarterbacks them.

But if he's the type of kid who would pick a school on what their record was for a single year above more important factors, especially when one of the schools is ND then what can I say, not a wise move. I think you'd agree, the kids who committed to a 5-7 Michigan squad in 2014 look pretty smart right now.

If I were him, I wouldn't commit to ND right now either, I'd wait till the HC situation shakes out and then make my decision. He has plenty of time and plenty of options.

Personally, it wouldn't stop me from going to ND, for the reasons you set forth. With 4 years of eligibility, you figure they'll hire someone good and you'll be set.

If you had committed and were a Freshman in Weis' last year, you'd have been playing for the 2012 NC.

according to michigan site..looks like they won't have room w/ Brad Hawkins, Donovan Peoples-Jones, Nico Collins, Tarik Black expected to be in the class

sounds like the Michigan staff really likes Hawkins. A lot. He was a 4* recruit in HS, failed to qualify out of HS but he's went to a prep school and gotten the grades up. He's in. Period. That's what the "insiders" have all said- that Harbaugh and his staff love the kid. Swenson was never one of their kids- he was a Hoke hold-over.

They still want Martin it sounds like, but they aren't going to turn away Tarik Black, DPJ, or Nico Collins if those guys want to commit before Martin makes up his mind.

Michigan leads heavily for DPJ, probably lead for Collins as well but Alabama looms large there, and Black is all over the place- hard to get a read on him.

Me personally, I'd rather have Martin over Black. Black might be bigger, may even be faster, but he's not better than Martin.

Swenson is not a noun. Swenson is a verb. Own it, love it, root for it, defend it. It's just how Harbaugh does it, yada yada yada

Hope Stueber and Honigford didn't burn their Rolodex's.

Ooooh I misread your OP, my bad. I thought you were talking about one recruit from Iowa or Iowa State. Not sure on the other, but I do know French at Oregon ended up being a decent pass rusher.

congrats. he's a heck of a player. kinda bummed out. DPJ and Nico Collins were #1 and #2 on my WR wish list in the entire country, but I would've rather had Martin than Black or Hawkins.

This is good news. We need WR's at the Z spot. Not much behind Stepherson this year coming up other than McKinley and we don't know what we have in him.

I thought X is the slot WR and Z is the WR1 (Hunter Jr. Spot last year)???maybe I'm wrong. The spot Steph will be playing this year is very thin is what I meant.
