Is the explanation that the coaches are telling every DB "Plz help save our coverage units"?

Studstill DM'd him at half and said,

"Coach Lyght's standing next to me and says if you come you will play, immediately... in case you ain't figured that out yet from the first half. Book a flight bruh, your bruddah needs some help!"

Nailed it!

I know he is not on the top of a lot of people's list on this board. but, I really like him and would love to have him in this class.

247 says he's the top S target and I like him as an SS guy but IMO, we need more FS's. Guys that can carry WR's and TE's deep. I'm not sure how good he is in coverage because you don't see him doing it that often. Very little film of him in a backpedal, flipping hips, and running.

Is Robertson a Ss or FS? Our wr commit that will be playing safety. Agree, we always seem to attract Ss, not fs better. Would pounced be a Ss or fs if he switched?

Agreed. They have Robertson coming in and need to add another like Devon Hunter, Isaiah Pola-Mao or KJ Jarrell.

If not, they may experiment with Jordan Pouncey and he has too much fast to lose at WR.

I'd say the future converted WR's will fit better as FS's in coverage, considering their ball skills and footwork, but I also don't know shit about coaching safeties so idk lol.

I figure that Robertson would be a SS since there is speculation that he might even grow into a LB.

Elliot and Studstill from 15 can play free, according to the staff. How many do you think that they'd take this year? 2? If the staff tries Holmes in the backfield, is he strong or free?

I think Robertson is a FS but I'd take two considering the depth we need. I agree that Elliot could also play FS so that would add depth if we didn't need him at SS.

Pouncey would definitely be an option but he looks like he might be a stud on offense. Hard to not give him a shot there first after what he's done so far this season.

IMO we are really trailing Miami and being 1-3 isn't helping one bit with anyone other den Graham

Team record really means little to these kids. They all believe they are going to win regardless of what school they choose. More important to them is stability of coaching staff, the coaches they are building relationships with.

Get the kid on an official, hire a DC who connects with Amari, finish the season strong and hope he commits.

I really want this kid to be part of the team next year. he may even be able to start next year.

Not sure if he's a future NFL All-Pro Strong Safety or a future LB for the Quad Cities Quake's farm team in Rockford.

I've tried to get fired up, I've tried to care but his measurables and a 1-3 record got me like...

The goal should be, no more Freshman starting at DB, by next year. That was the point of that big haul we brought in last year. There should be enough development between now and then that he won't be starting.

Every kid is different but to generalize like that doesn't make sense, IMO. If you think winning doesn't make a difference in recruiting, I will have to disagree. Time and time again, recruits talk about playing for a winning program, a winning tradition, playing prime time games, etc. Playing prime time games only happens if you're winning.

Again, I'm sure some kids feel the way you described in your post but putting all recruits under that umbrella isn't logical.

Agreed, it might not matter to each individual recruit better it definitely helps the overall class, most of the time. And, it doesn't even have to be national championship or bust type of winning. Win 10 games, make a NY6 game and recruiting becomes much easier. Lose to UT, MSU, and Duke to start the year and now we're just hoping that we keep who we have and can identify some new offers to come aboard.

I said these kids not all kids. Didn't realize I needed to say generally speaking. But you want to know what's more important to these kids (in general)

Playing time- Huge
Depth charts- Huge
Coaching relationships- HUGE
Relationships to current players
Academics
Campus vibe
Campus location

Again EVERY kid thinks whatever school they attend will win. And I don't even have to say in general on that one.

“She just absolutely loved it,” said Carter. “She loved every single bit of it. I don’t even know what would be the spotlight. She really enjoyed herself.”

247

IMO he's going to Miami I think the idea of him and Studstill back there together is keeping it us in it. Plus mom loved it but I think she would love to have her son about an hour from home as well. Plus Miami had a pretty good lead heading into this visit so it's not like we had to hold off a Miami surge. ND will also have coaches at his game on Thursday
