Yeah... hence why I didn't put up his profile on this site but now that he's coming to II, he gets the red carpet treatment.

I'm looking forward to comparing II to BBQ @ Pig House.

No idea. I won't actively follow it. I'll just be interested to see the final score of II vs BBQ vs OSU's FNL.

I hope they are on different days.

Love that he wears number 1.

To quote Jim Rome: "If you're a defensive lineman with a single digit number, you have baaaad intentions."

Because people complain about ND not recruiting top defensive lineman. ND offers and recruits the hell out of this kid and gets him to visit and people are unhappy.

We should not be held accountable for, or judged by, his posts, lol.

I actually do think it is often a waste of time if it is taking away at all from kids who may actually come. If its not affecting your other recruiting, who cares. But making googly-eyes with a southern 5-star and delaying a recruitment with a more realistic low 4-star MW kid is not smart for ND, IMO.

Under Kelly, recruiting has been pretty good. But I really dislike the pattern of over-recruiting a position to make up for past recruiting, and then under-recruiting that same position the next year because we took so many kids the previous year!

I think you try as hard as possible for 22 kid classes- one kid per position each year. Transfers and Fifth years may change things up a little-- meaning you may only take 4 OLmen most years.

But taking ZERO DTs is just silly, IMO. I LOVE what we did at LB this year. We got 3 kids who all want to be here, all good prospects, and then freed ourselves up to chase the big fish. If we swing and miss, we're fine.

Is this visit a result of getting the Ben Davis' on campus last year? If so, I think that it is worth it to get them on campus. Have to keep opening those doors. May not come here, but still helps get the word out. Not sure that the sat. camps work for ND if the opinion is that kids need to get on campus to really "get" ND.

As long as you treat all such recruits as super long-shots, and aren't fooling yourself... a Jerry Tillery or Justin Tuck comes along once in while.

What you don't know about are all the interactions that went on before he was offered in March. The staff obviously thought it was worth the effort.
Every now and then you get lucky and find an RKG down there, hell sometimes you get lottery lucky, find a guy, get lost on the way to see him and THEN end up finding the rightest guy of all.

But you also have to realize, Tuck didnt come after Bama and Auburn won several NC back to back. Pressure to stay in state has to be at its all time high. Big difference in teams between now and then.

Bama gets what Bama wants. The rest go to Auburn.

I would agree with this, if it was January, we didn't have a full class, and only weeks left to recruit. And we put all our eggs in this prospects basket, like we did with a few kids last cycle. However, its roughly 9 months until NSD and there will be a ridiculous amount of talent on campus, regardless of whether he came or not. Not an issue at all.

Did you make sure to CC BK on that memo, he just has to read this.

Good news for the rest of CFB, there are more than 30 good HS players in the country.

Right. It's not bad in the abstract, as long as its kept in perspective.

Tuck isn't a great example anyway because he was a 3-star, like the Ameer Abdullah kid from AL who went to Nebraska.

But there are kids like Tillery and Lyons who are from the deep South who aren't looking for a football factory.

Just figured because this board talks about a team we don't play anymore daily they would have a list. =]

At least with the satellite camps, you have a chance to get your message out and convince them to visit. Then they can "get it" once they get to campus.
