Scout: Tony Jones Jr won't make II but Perry is still coming. 2017 RB AJ Dillon, 2016 ATH Tyquan Statham, 2017 Canadian WR Joshua Palmer will attend II

VT DB commit Troy Pride is hoping to visit next month

Any reason for Jones Jr. being a scratch? He's the commit I'm most intrigued by since he got so few carries last year.

Scratch Cam Lewis from II list, he's playing in the IMG 7 on 7 tourney this weekend.

Tony Jones Jr. isn't coming because of 7-on-7.

IMG is hosting 7-on-7 nationals this weekend, so I am shocked Notre Dame is getting some of the players they are in town this weekend.

Added to Rico Dowdle, he won't be at II but will be participating in the RB camp in hopes of landing an offer.

The more I watch his tape, the more I think he'd be a good APB option.

i hope all the elite kids actually suit up and take part in II. I didnt like last year how some of the elite kids were just there to ride around in golfcarts and be fawned on. I loved how Nicco was out there competing eventhough he was already a commit

Scheduling faux-pas? Or is there stragedy (strategy/tragedy) in this?

My guess: 7 v 7 happens literally every weekend during the summer and so do other college camps. It was unavoidable that II would conflict with something. ND has to set a date early for this so it can start pulling in recruits; South Boner is a long trip for many of these kids. And 7 v 7, especially in the South, can happen last minute and still get teams to go because it's a short drive/trip.

Basically a combination of ND's location and either poor luck or poor scheduling.

It's longer for some than it is for others.

Thanks for the info!

And where is this South Boner you speak of?

(Problem at my age isn't getting one, but keeping track of it. Two? Out of the question! North or South, it doesn't matter, we would have a rogue Boner!~)

Tyquan Statham and Xavier Gaines won't make II

i really don't like the fact that some guys are cancelling so late....seems like if they knew they wouldn't be able to make it they would have known a lot sooner than they are letting the staff know.

A lot of these 7-on-7 teams are run by "organizations" so they can also pick-up kids during the season.

The group is expected to workout at the invite-only event and then stay the night in South Bend

I believe Gaines is already scheduled to make it back and Statham may be too

Staples is a RB committed to Louisville just this week
