<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>'16 FL RB Deon McIntosh (<a href="https://twitter.com/deon_the_truth">@deon_the_truth</a>) is Mr. Everything for his HS squad. Holds <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/NotreDame?src=hash">#NotreDame</a> offer. (Free)

2016 running back Deon McIntosh is Mr. Everything for his Cardinal Gibbons (Fla.) squad and teams are starting to notice, including the Irish.
“Notre Dame offered at the beginning of the fall,” he said. “Coach (Tony) Alford came by the school and that’s when I got the offer from Notre Dame. They like my flexibility to play running back or wide receiver.”
The Fort Lauderdale native might live a good distance away from South Bend, but he knows what Notre Dame offers.
“They are one of the top schools on my list and in the country,” the three-star prospect said. “I am definitely looking into them. I haven’t been in contact with them recently though.”
As we mentioned before, McIntosh had a huge junior season and that has led to offers from Notre Dame, Duke, East Carolina, Illinois, Miami, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Temple, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
“This fall, I had over 1,100 all-purpose yards and 14 touchdowns,” McIntosh stated. “I had 834 rushing yards and 386 receiving yards. I did a little bit of everything this year. Notre Dame said that they wanted me to play running back, but also be able to play receiver at times too. As a team, we finished the year 6-4.”
McIntosh has a unique connection to Miami with his brother, Richard McIntosh Jr., being a 2015 commit to the Canes, but that won’t be a deciding factor in his decision. However, Miami is one of the schools he has visited and McIntosh will be looking to visit some other programs this summer.
“We talk about it a little bit here and there,” said McIntosh. “It would be pretty cool to go to the same school. I am looking at other schools and want to find the best one for me. Playing together isn’t going to make or break my recruitment.
“I went to Florida State, Florida and Miami games this fall. Notre Dame, Tennessee and Wisconsin are schools that I am going to try and get to see this summer.”
The 5-foot-10, 175-pounder is looking for a school that will put the ball in his hands and one that has his preferred major as of now.
“I want to go to a school that will put the ball in my hands so I can make plays,” he explained. “I want to run the ball, run routes and catch the ball out of the backfield. The offense would need to be able to run the ball and throw the ball. Basically, like an explosive offense with a high-tempo offense.
“I’d like to major in sports management or engineering. Distance won’t play a factor in my decision. I will go wherever if it’s the right school.”

Notre Dame wants two running backs this cycle and is halfway there with a commitment from four-star IMG Academy athlete Tony Jones, who committed last month.
Could Notre Dame sign two from the Sunshine State come February?
Three-star running back Deon McIntosh from Cardinal Gibbons in Fort Lauderdale says Notre Dame has caught his eye early in the process.
“After spring football, I plan on coming out with a top 10,” McIntosh said. “Notre Dame will most definitely be on that list.”
Notre Dame is recruiting the 5-foot-11, 170-pound athlete as a slot receiver, which is something that resonates strongly with McIntosh.
“Coach (Autry) Denson wants me to play some slot, too” McIntosh said. “I like catching a lot, so that’s something that really sounds good to me. Being in the slot would give me the opportunity to play both wide receiver and running back. Most schools like me just as a running back.”
McIntosh expects a spring visit from the Irish running backs coach.
“It’ll be nice to meet (Denson) in person,” McIntosh said. “I know he played running back at Notre Dame and he’s a first-year guy at Notre Dame as a coach,” McIntosh said. “He used to coach in Florida, so that’s a big plus. I don’t know much about Notre Dame other than that, but I like the program.”
Another program on track to make McIntosh’s top 10 is Miami. McIntosh’s older brother, former three-star defensive end Richard McIntosh, signed with the Hurricanes in February as part of the Class of 2015.
McIntosh also has offers from Duke, Illinois, Louisville, Maryland, North Carolina, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Tennessee, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
“Right now I am staying open to anything,” McIntosh said. “I probably won’t make my decision until late in the fall or near signing day.”
As a junior, McIntosh rushed 128 times for 843 yards and 12 touchdowns. He had 40 receptions for 366 yards and two receiving touchdowns.
McIntosh is a three-star prospect and is ranked as the No. 6 running back in Florida and No. 55 running back overall in the Class of 2016.

A good chunk of Deon McIntosh's campus tours with be coming in the fall when he's provided with a handful of official visits that will be on the dime of his college suitors.
The well-rounded tailback out of Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Cardinal Gibbons has yet to solidify any dates on his calendar, but already has a good idea of which schools will have the opportunity to roll out the red carpet and grasp his attention while he's out of town.
"I may take one more visit this summer, but I want to take all of my officials during the season." McIntosh said. "If I visit one more school, it will probably be North Carolina and that will be it until I take my officials.
"Right now, I'm thinking Tennessee, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Louisville and West Virginia (will receive official visits). West Virginia, Tennessee and Notre Dame are the main ones sticking out right now."
McIntosh, the 45th-ranked running back in the nation on Scout, is an all-purpose back who racked up 1,220 total yards and 14 touchdowns as a junior a season ago. Possessing soft hands out of the backfield, McIntosh is shifty and slippery with the pigskin in his hands, as well as a tough runner that's difficult to bring down on initial contact.

Brian Kelly's staff at Notre Dame is well aware of McIntosh's versatility on the offensive side of the ball, and are hoping to catapult up the running back's list after playing host up in South Bend.
"Their coach recently came down and talked to me," McIntosh said. "They want me to play a little receiver and running back, which is one thing I want to do in college.
"Talking to (running backs) coach (Autry) Denson, we're building a nice connection and I just need to go up there and see how the school is. We talk all the time on Twitter."
Tennessee is a school that's been persistent in their efforts to lure the Sunshine State native up to the Volunteer State.
"I like how they use their running backs," McIntosh said. "The coach and I have been talking a lot, and they've been saying how much they want me up there and stuff."
One school that's made a living in the fertile recruiting grounds of South Florida is West Virginia, who's out front and the early front-runner for McIntosh. The running back has heard nothing but positive things about Morgantown, but just has to make the trek up to see everything for himself.
"As of right now, they're the No. 1 school on the top of my list," McIntosh said. "The running backs coach (Ja'Juan Seider) and offensive line coach (Ron Crook), both of them came to see me and talk to me.
"They've been telling me good things and I just need to go up there to see how things are. I was talking about it with the coaches and it may be the perfect for me."
McIntosh has no timetable for his college decision.

Made his top 5. WVU is currently the leader with ND pushing for that spot. UNC, Tenn., and Louisville round out that top 5. Will OV to all and make a decision in January.

“I talk to (Irish running backs) coach (Autry) Denson a couple of times a week. I’m going to go up there and see how their school fits me. I’m highly on their offensive (board). I want to go up there and get a feeling for the school.”

he said he feels like ND is pushing wvu for the top spot

Per Wiltfong we have a pretty good chance here going into his OV. Per Bartow he might not have a spot at WV with UNC also in the mix.

Where does he rank in "want" compared to other RBs we still have on our board?

How can he not have a spot at WV? Are they that stacked at RB that he'd have to choose ND over WV?

Don't have an exact answer for ya but we've been recruiting him consistently for quite awhile now. So, I'd assume he's fairly high on the board.

They've got two backs in their class at the moment, and they have had two in just about every class, I believe.

He definitely seems like a north south power runner. Even though he is listed at 170 he runs a lot bigger IMO. Seems to do well on passes out if the backfield as well.

If we are set on taking a scat back/ slot WR, I think McIntosh is better than Alloway and Stovall. Would prefer we just save the scholarship for a better player or different position though.

ND tied with West Virginia. Will visit West Virginia at some point. Decision after the season. Really connects with Denson.

He looks like a WR playing RB. fairly Quick, runs with a lot of power for his size, good not great top end speed. Dont really like him, stovall, allows enough to give a scholarship to
