Not sure why this kid is rated as a quarterback. He's a linebacker with the athletic ability to be utilized on offense (but not as a QB unless some team is looking for a Tim Tebow).

Let's see, a 2016 Cali kid who's already verbally committed to USC. I wouldn't get too excited.

Visiting Notre Dame this summer

“I’m not solid with USC,” Juarez said. “It’s not the best decision I’ve ever made. I want to go somewhere out of state for college, and I want to see what other schools have to offer.”

Lol and he too, committed to USC last week

yea, safe to say unless some other type of news happens this kid, this will be last time I open this thread. he wont be coming to Notre Dame, period - even if it 'goes down NSD' .

"I'm supposed to be taking a visit to Notre Dame," Juarez said. "That's the talk I've been having with my coach. I don't know when but the coaches told me to come in the summer because it's nicer weather than in the winter.

"The Notre Dame coach came by Thursday and he told me to keep them in mind. My options are still open so I'll take a look. I need to get a feel of the place out there to see if I could see myself out there."

With USC, it's all about seeing how Su'a Cravens and the other linebackers are used this season to determine his commitment status with the Trojans
Neb/ucla are 2 other likely places he could end up....has good relationship w/ neb lb coach who was recruiting him back at osu

OK, so maybe I won't get excited.

Not a bad rise from the lowly 3 star dual threat QB he was when I wrote this 4-5 months ago. Crazy.

Cali is just loaded with talent, its sickening. I'm with you Beau, really hope we can make an impression on some of these kids.

Gotta beat USC to have a shot with elite Cali kids.

In most seasons I'd agree but if we lose to USC and still win 10 regular season games we could still have a fairly decent class from Cali. NDCrusader has done a good job of illustrating how much talent there is at certain positions out west and they can't all end up at USC. USC might get the best of the bunch but we should be in play for some very good talent.

I'd like to see Lokeni Toailoa and Caleb Kelly make it to campus as well. Mique, Lokeni, and Caleb are all GREAT linebackers with legit interest in Notre Dame. Longshots? Maybe (currently), but getting kids like them on campus is big time.

I agree but I also think that ND can pull an elite talent away from Cali if they beat Southern Cal and have an impressive season. I don't think they would've gotten Redfield in 13 without that victory in the Coliseum.

I agree, I was just pointing out that if we do indeed lose to USC, I don't think that all is lost this cycle.

As pointed out above, Redfield happened so it can happen any year, if not every year.

Do 90% of these kids want to go to SC? Yes. All ND has to do is be in position for the kids like David Long, Brandon Burton, CJ Pollard, Marquel Dismuke, Micah Croom and Troy Warner because they all can't go to SC. By being in position, you have to win 10 games on a regular basis. If a kid doesn't get the spot he wanted at SC, he has to be proud of where he is going. Going to ND is sort of like being banished from the kingdom but ND offers you the chance to return and get the last laugh. This form of street cred and revenge goes a long way in recruiting. ND has that in the LA/IE/OC area in spades. I was actually shocked as to how much support there is out here for the Irish. At OC football games, I see countless parent types wearing ND football gear. It's part of wanting something more for your kid or a statement into what kind of institution you admire.

Anyways... WHEN the Irish win 10+ this year they will have some choices come all star game time. Unless the Irish hit pay dirt with some Florida or Texas high rankers because of their record, I see ND getting up to 3 DB's out of Cali. SC and Stanford are loaded so much so that guys like Croom and Dismuke are verballed to Cal and Utah. With Shurrod Thompson committing to Cal, I think Dismuke is primed for a snatch. He's the best combo safety in SoCal besides Thompson who one upped him with the Bears.
