Four-star running back Ke'Shawn Vaughn out of Nashville (Tenn.) Pearl-Cohn has cancelled his official visit to Ohio State. The visit was originally planned for this weekend but after the Buckeyes picked up a commitment from running back Michael Weber, Vaughn changed his plans. He recently named a top three of Purdue, Louisville and Ohio State. Asked if Ohio State is now out of his top three, Vaughn wasn't ready to go that far.

"Ohio State will keep in touch because you never know how recruiting works," Vaughn said.

Already Vaughn has taken official visits to Purdue and Louisville. One other program that has reached out and could join the mix with an offer is Notre Dame.

"Notre dame called me yesterday and they were talking about getting me up there so I might get up there for one," he said. "I like the offense that they run and how they've been perfecting it this year."

Of the other two primary contenders, Vaughn likes what he sees.

"Purdue has been recruiting me about the hardest of everybody and I just like the coaching staff and the environment up there."

With Louisville he points to the offense.

"I like the spread," he said. "They get the running backs the football in the air."

Vaughn is currently ranked by 247Sports Composite as the No. 31 running back in the country.

Our perfectly ran offense? Clearly didn't watch a Notre Dame game this year

I think he meant perfecting as improving to perfect. Which the offense put up some points for the season sans USC.

Dude looks strong. I like. And to the perfecting the offense question, I'd bet he liked the year Tarean had.

According to a couple of Scout articles he plans to announce at the end of the month.

His offer list isn't that impressive.

He has been talk of Middle Tennessee here recently. He rushed for 2,000 yards for two years in a row.

His recruiting started slow because Pearl Cohn is not the best football team and it is in a bad area in Nashville. John Henderson (Former Jaguars DT) came from Pearl Cohn.

He is playing in the East-West Bowl Game tonight. I would be happy with him, would be a good 3rd down back.

Seems like a good player and kid (who, in his excitement, placed the r before the t). Wonder if the offer is due to lack of confidence in landing any of the currently targeted backs, or simply to keep the options open by casting a wide net.

Confidence is pretty high with R. Jones so I think this has to do with more options just in case.

Prefer Williams or Cronkrite to him behind Jones if we are taking two RBs, but wouldn't be mad with him.

Notre Dame, Illinois, Purdue, and Louisville are the favorites. Will visit either the 16th or 23rd.

I think he is going to be the 2nd running back in this class

I like our chances......Louisville is gonna be tough of they want him, I think.

They already have 4(!!) running backs for this class. I didn't mention in my post above but he also wants early playing time. He probably wouldn't get that at Louisville, his chances of being the #3 back in South Bend are pretty good

Reminds me a lot of Folston. Short but stocky. Good balance and feet. I like him quite a bit as an all around back but similar to Folston what he lacks is elite top end speed. Other than that could be a very quality APB.

I get what you're saying arrow, and I don't disagree, however, it is Bobby Petrino, and I wouldn't count him out of a recruiting battle until NSD for Vaughn.

Anyone seen what the pots of gold looked like this year? Sounds like Vaughn received one.
